I'm not a religious person but....

Quote
Matthew 24:6-13
You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.  Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.

And Volcanoes!
Anyone else notice we seem to have a heap of volcanoes going off, or warnings about super volcanoes erupting, at the moment.

And false prophets, dont forget the false prophets....we have our share of those going around as well.

But seriously, what's with the volcanoes?

as a religious person from the book of revelations it explicitly states not to look for the end of times, but to be vigilant in your faith as only the father will know when its here.

In other words live your life to fullness and have faith that everything will be however it will be.

Proper Christian believers should have nothing to fear and only those who waiver in their faith would care.

Obviously atheists will laugh at it so ironically they should be fine....  🤣

The Book Of Revelation has been a problematic and controversial text since it first became known. It was excluded from the Bible for a long time. Martin Luther placed the book in an appendix at the end of his Bible. The scholarly consensus is that it is written as an example of ancient apocalyptic literature, aimed squarely at the Roman Empire, and the "prophecies" therein are not really relevant to today. The famous 616 / 666 number is an example of gematria, encoding a particular word with corresponding numbers. Those of you who remember your Roman numerals will know that letters also functioned as numbers in the ancient Near East and the Greco Roman empire. The name encoded is Nero Caesar, one is transliterating it into Hebrew from Greek, and the other is transliterating into Hebrew from Latin.

Interestingly Matthew's gospel and Revelation deal with the saved and damned differently. In Matthew's gospel, you want to be left behind, because the ones taken away are the ones who will be destroyed. In Revelation, it's the opposite. Beware of assuming univocality from one book to the next.

Unfortunately I won't be up and about as quickly as you, GTC old son.
Back home, but with considerable pain. Surgeon explained that he's freed up the nerve root (C8) but the referred pain (back and right arm) will take a few weeks to ease up. It's now up to my nervous system to repair this referred pain. Plus an incredibly sore throat due to that metal rod they shove down your neck during surgery to keep you breathing!
Glad to be home, but gotta take it easy for a coupla weeks or so. Yep, with plenty of pain meds whilst the system gets to work with repairs.
Please don't think there's any 'woe is me' stuff going on. Nuh. It is what it is and now to just be patient with the healing process - not my strong suit!
