2 changes for Australia: Doggett and Neser out for Cummins and Lyon. No Khawaja. 12th man ... Hmmm.

I heard on the wireless that Smith was a late out and that is correct. Khawaja in for Smith and batting at four apparently.

Weatherald is making the running so far.

I know Smith was a very late out, but Khawaja at 4? Isn't there anyone else who actually bats in that position?

Smith has vertigo, something he suffers from it seems.

Probably not in the squad in Adelaide, but yes there may have been better options.

Joff is definitely bowling better, after smith riled him up in the 4th dig in brisbane.  but, geez the aus batsmen would be pretty upset about the way they have got out - gifted him each of his 3 wickets, after putting in the hard yards to see out his good stuff (except Green who lasted 2 balls).   they have left some runs out there on a flat track

I was about to have a crack at Khawaja for his slow scoring, that I think puts added pressure on our other batsmen, when he started to play some strokes.  Now he's made a 50 and has probably cemented hos place in the team for the rest of the series  ::)

Cam Green is out of credits.  Won't bowl, can't bat.  He may be seen as "better" than Webster on potential but it's performance that counts.
DrE is no more... you ok with that harmonica man?

I think that the only thing in Green's favour is that he's six years younger than Webster.

Can't understand what Webster did wrong, dropped for no obvious reason, while some can't get dropped no matter how badly they are playing.

The difference between England's erratic and chaotic Bazball, and Carey playing attacking cricket full of confidence and in good form just highlights the stupidity of the England game plan. England basically go all in every hand and hope for luck!

Yes, age, but the selection of the out of form and out of position, 39 years old tomorrow, Khawaja seems to contradict that hypothesis.

Maybe a birthday present? :o

Tend to agree, talked about as a future captain but is struggling to maintain his place in the team. No doubt got talent but doesnt deliver often enough to warrant the automatic selection status he seems to hold.
Has managed to find his way into the senior player inner sanctum where once you are in and connected its very hard to lose your place in the team/squad.
