Should Carlton train at night in 2014 October 31, 2013, 09:15:32 pm After studying the draw for 2014 I have come to the conclusion that I am pretty happy with it but the thing that stands out the most is that we have only 4 day games and 18 twilight/night games. Talk about being the night specialists! It got me thinking that would there be any benefit in scheduling training around the night slots in order for the players to be better prepared rather than the mid morning training sessions that are now common place. Re: Should Carlton train at night in 2014 Reply #2 – October 31, 2013, 09:28:56 pm Roy, call Mick and talk to him to organise this. It makes complete sense being different to playing during the day time. Dew, cooler conditions and lighting are all different between day time, and night time. Especially the lighting when it comes to taking marks. Go for it Roy. Quote Selected

Re: Should Carlton train at night in 2014 Reply #8 – October 31, 2013, 10:37:23 pm Years ago, in the Pagan days, I noticed that during warm ups and at training our blokes used old crappy balls. I emailed the club and asked why not use new balls to get them used to handling nice new balls in readiness for game day. Eventually, I noticed they went to newish balls. No I'm not taking credit for it but the point is, the idea of emailing the club and suggesting lots of night training sessions because of the number of night games we have is not a stupid idea by any stretch. I remember reading in Kouta's book that the club was broke at that stage and everyone had to bring their own footy to training. Quote Selected

Re: Should Carlton train at night in 2014 Reply #14 – October 31, 2013, 11:35:37 pm It's a travesty that any club should play more than 50% of it's games at night. Quote Selected
