As we play together more and we get more good players back I think we will improve. I am not sure where Sydney's improvement will come from. Tackling up the ground and in the midfield takes so much pressure off the backline.  On top of that we have got a lot of good players down there. Weitering reminds me of Southby and Saad is as good as any half back we have ever had except for probably Doull. We have been able to defend our turnovers in the middle of the park this year better than previous seasons but we won't get away with it against Brisbane and Melbourne. We need to stop turning the ball over in the middle of the park. this comes down to the decision making of the person with the ball in their hands and the person who is calling for the ball. You can't afford to get too excited. I am sure the coaching staff will be working on it. Finally, if we had won by five two instead of two five, there would have been a lot less angst.

Just on the Guernsey, I thought it looked great.

I love the indigenous jumpers from an art work perspective but also the thought that goes into them by the designers. The Calton one had amongst other things, the name of every indigenous player that's represented our great club. StK's jumper was design by Nicky Winmar, he explained the hand prints on the back are symbolic of indigenous elders putting their hands on troubled souls to say "I got your back brother". I love that stuff.

LoB and Cottrell (and last week Newnes) are covering the ground and running strongly to provide defensive numbers as well as attacking contributions, which means I don't expect to see Setterfield back anytime soon.

I agree. Cottrell’s run, blocks, and pressure that forces poor disposal and creates time for team mates down field. It’s all those little efforts across the ground throughout the game that is different from previous years. I guess it represents “buy in”

This year and last year’s (Shelley Ware) are outstanding. I’d love one for our away strip. Also liked the shorts this year.

It’s hard to see what the ruling is on the Indigenous Round kit. Some teams wear it more than others in no particular fashion.

Agree with the sentiments especially some of the lesser lights in the team in the wake of quieter games from Cripps, Cerra, JSOS.

Reckon Fisher's last month is the best footy he's played for us. Continually hitting the scoreboard but not just as a small forward...getting up and down the ground and his precise field kicking has been a feature.

Cottrell looking more and more like he'll make it.

Thought Plowman was pretty solid too tonight...as were most of the defenders. On paper they have a lot of firepower and we quelled most of it. Heeney got off the chain after half time but he was more midfield at that stage.

Stoker only just back from injury/suspension but was the first one into the scuffle after Docherty was flattened....he can be untidy at times with sloppy kicking but he can play that lockdown defensive role.

And he has a bit of value.

He's one of those type of guys who just goes under the radar a bit, but you look up one day and find he's played 100 games.

He's one of those type of guys who just goes under the radar a bit, but you look up one day and find he's played 100 games.

Walsh on SEN on Sat said how he is by far the best runner at the club. Cottrell ran a 5min 40m 2km time trial which is bloody impressive.

I think he will be a very valuable footsoldier for us, hopefully for many years.
