Re: VFL 2022 Rd 12 Carlton vs Essendon at Windy Hill Reply #15 – June 11, 2022, 03:12:24 pm I’m guessing Durdin played as the anchor in the SANFL so the ball could be funnelled back to him to take advantage of his kicking skills. Haven’t seen any of his SANFL stuff though. Quote Selected

Re: VFL 2022 Rd 12 Carlton vs Essendon at Windy Hill Reply #19 – June 11, 2022, 04:34:53 pm Setterfield had a very good inside game and will be stiff not to get a game next week - I would be guessing that over 80% of his posessions were contested and only player on the ground that played like for like for Cerra Quote Selected
Re: VFL 2022 Rd 12 Carlton vs Essendon at Windy Hill Reply #20 – June 11, 2022, 04:41:48 pm Setterfield was one of the better players today, MBB, so maybe we haven’t seen the last of him at AFL level. Dow was okay as well. Not sure what to make of Durdin though. He has good skills by foot but he isn’t the big KPD who’ll kill the ball with a big fist. He tended to drop back as the goal keeper rather than busting packs. He was monstered by Stewart on one of the few occasions he was in a 1 on 1 marking duel with him. Not sure I’d want him playing on Tom Lynch at this stage. But not terrible given this was his first game. Quote Selected
Re: VFL 2022 Rd 12 Carlton vs Essendon at Windy Hill Reply #21 – June 11, 2022, 04:53:17 pm Very disappointing, especially to stuff it up in the last quarter after leading all day.[1] Mirkov had a bad one. Nick Bryan is a good young ruckman.[2] Dow had 11 clearances, 27 possessions and 5 tackles. Not a bad effort, everything considered.Nice to see Setters playing as an inside mid and getting the job done. 34 possessions, 5 clearances and 5 tackles.Hayes was OK, but not great and Cincotta played very well, but other than that, there wasn't much to get excited about. We also had a number of kids playing their first or 2nd game, who, alas, didn't do much. Still missing a fair bit of talent out there.[3] Josh Honey a long way from his best. 11 possessions is just not enough from him.Jesse Motlop was also disappointing and had no influence on the game at all.I am really worried about Sam Philip at the moment. I thought Will H was a chance but I was really impressed with Setters. His reflexes and decisions in tight were brilliant. Actually one of the best, most complete games I've seen him play.
