I just noticed that number plates identify Victoria as the "Education State".

What a joke.  More accurate options would include "Bankrupt State", "Lawless State" and "Socialist State".

Any other suggestions?
I've been a teacher for more than 40 years. I can't say that teaching today is any better than it was when I started, for all the changes there have been. There is more support for teachers now, but student quality has not improved, nor had student behaviour. I've taught some shockers over the years, but the lack of respect now is at an all time high.

That said, our tertiary education is still more than decent, even if students spend nowhere near as much time on campus. In my 3rd year, I was rarely out of the lab and only to go to lectures. Now lab time is much less. Much less.

This is a global phenomenon, if reports from teachers all over the world are anything to go by.

We have a thread for the Federal election.

https://www.carltonsc.com/index.php?topic=7184.0

It probably says a lot about our general lack of enthusiasm for the candidates and parties that it's not generating a lot of interest.

So that we don't get a duplication and two threads talking about the same things can we confine the discussion to just one thread.
I'm not fussed which one, maybe leave this one for Victorian politics.
The Federal election will be done and dusted in a week.

Andrews caught trying to use a wealthy mates wife's id after changing the name to get into Moonah links golf course....this after trying to join Portsea golf club previously and the members having a fit and opposing his application.

Again, they want to tax the hard working  and those who cant afford it instead of those that can (big corporates). Disgraceful.

Income tax. To cover national responsibilities. I understand this.

Rates....hugely excessive in Vic
Stamp duty. Again, why?
Land tax. WTF?
And they are talking death taxes.

All to pay for a state government that bankrupted the state to pay for some white elephant infrastructure.  Prime example of fiscal irresponsibility.

I'm not standing up for the crazies but they live under the same rules as everyone else.  If that bloke dropped that woman imagine the crapstorm.  The rules have to apply to everyone equally or why bother to adhere to them? What are the crazies thinking after this incident.... If the rules don't apply to others, drop the pretense of society?

I saw that EB. I must say i get great joy out of businesses not forgetting what he did. He may not pay for his crimes by the state as he seems to have an uncanny knack of having friends in high places to protect him and of course his on again off again amnesia condition.

However those affected by his make it up as he goes while happily running the state to the ground all to protect his own ego wont be forgotten.

Want to play Golf Dan may have to build a course in your backyard.
