Celine Moody has retired from AFL footy.

Not sure we ever saw the best of her, and she was always being compared to her sister which not many can compete with.

Frees up another spot on our list

I don't think that Celine had the same love for footy as Breann and wasn't really in the same ballpark in terms of ability and application.  I couldn't really see how we could fit her, Breann, Jess Good and Tara Bohanna into the same lineup.

Kerryn Peterson will be missing the 2025 season; she is expecting her 1st child. Good luck to her and her hubbie.

A couple of changes:
Eliza Wood will miss the season with an ACL, after coming up from the VFLW. :( Disappointing.
Charlotte Brewer has come in as an injury replacement for her. best wishes for Charlotte.

Erone Fitzpatrick is back, after missing with injury last year.

Sophie McKay is wearing 55, because Abbie is already wearing 5.
How does this bode for the Walker brothers?

No dramas.  Cody can take 1 and McG will have given the flick soon enough.
DrE is no more... you ok with that harmonica man?

Brooke Boileau (Adelaide) has requested a trade to us.
Lauren Bella (Gold Coast) also looks headed our way.

I guess we're looking for replacements for Breann Moody aka Harrington and Jess Good, who aren't getting any younger. Harrington is 28 and may be looking to start a family. Jess Good is 31, after starting late (she was 26 when we drafted her). Both girls have been fantastic this year, one of the reasons we've been winning games.

The Giants are also expected to dig their heels in with the Blues over an interest in McCormick, who is another to have flagged a desire to land at Ikon Park just weeks after being named in the AFLW's extended All-Australian squad.

McCormick, who is contracted for 2026, has emerged as one of the League's best defensive options this season and averaged 16.6 disposals and 2.9 marks across the campaign.

Carlton is widely viewed as one of the AFLW's most attractive destinations ahead of next month's Trade Period, with the young Blues blowing away West Coast and Hawthorn in convincing finals wins across the last fortnight.

Kudos to Bucky. It was rats jumping off only a few years ago. Now its come full circle and everyone wants to come on board.

I'd be looking to get in a replacement tall forward for Bohanna who is one of the oldest on our list. Yes, Poppy Scholz has a big future there, as does McKay, but i think they work so well with Bohanna taking a key defender.
