TikTok and the NSA

Interesting rumours floating around.

All the chest beating about who is in control and who values freedom of speech, security, etc., etc.. The following is somewhat ironic given the people now assuming power campaigned heavily on freedom and rights.

Basically, TikTok was a problem because it sat outside of the domain of the 5-Eyes. Something about it's architecture made it impossible to intercept established connections. So the published reason for the ban are bogus, it's about the GOP testing the ability to control information. So to get all the data and communications back under the surveillance of the NSA they had to force users to disconnect, when the service comes back up and users connect the NSA has inserted itself in the middle, the data is piped.

That's what this was all about, bringing TikTok data stream into the fold and under control, it feels very Steve Bannon!

Now if you are concerned because Trump and Musk are the major holders of two competing technology platforms, then you probably should be, and it is no surprise Meta and Google have gone cap in hand.

Interestingly, China does not see TikTok as a problem because in China VPN type technologies are illegal, get caught using a VPN and you are going to a Chinese jail. In China, if you connect to TikTok, WhatsApp, WeChat, your communications are wide open.

Trump is talking about a 90-day 'moratorium' on the ban so Tik Tok could keep operating, despite legislation banning its use.

At the same time, his new best buddy Elon is in talks with Tik Tok to buy the US rights.  Last thing he would want would be to take over a platform that 90% of users have ditched.

Is this the first whiff of Elon's pay-back......?
This is now the longest premiership drought in the history of the Carlton Football Club - more evidence of climate change?

There are reports that TikTok went out for a short time then was back courtesy of the All Mighty and Forgiving Trump.

Trump boosters can never unhear the above rumour, conspiracy and rumour is their succour.

And yet while you wont admit it,
its equally the same for the other side. Trump will never be credited for anything that may paint him even if slightly in a positive way.

Once you form a side whether it be politics or football your view is always slanted to vary degrees imo, just some are honest enough to admit it while others are too rusted on to dare concede that.

Yes, TikTok shut down in accordance with the law passed by Congress.  It came back online when the POTUS-elect announced that he would issue an executive order suspending the ban … and dismissing the concerns of the Senate and House that TikTok is an intelligence gathering platform.

Of course, the kicker is that the ban is suspended so that Vice-President Musk can negotiate a favourable deal to acquire part ownership of TikTok.

It will be an interesting test of the POTUS-elect to see if Congress goes along with his executive order.  It could well be the start of a very rocky four years with Congress knocking out many of Aurangzeb’s lunatic plans.

I wonder how Elon will tackle the Chinese spying concerns.  He’s not beholden to Xi like Aurangzeb is, but like Aurangzeb, he’s motivated by what’s best for him, rather than any patriotic ideals.

There’s an interesting clip doing the rounds and showing Elon and his brother talking about the government grant that set them up.  Brother Kimbal makes it perfectly clear that they received the grant when they were illegal immigrants.  Double standards much?

It’s interesting to hear what MAGA supporters are saying now.  I don’t think there’s been as much buyer’s remorse since the P76 was scrapped.
It's still the Gulf of Mexico, Don Old!

Musk is bordering on being a Chinese citizen, they financed his Tesla factory and he even supported their claims on Taiwan.

Does Trump have any boundaries for Musk or is Elon just going to keep pushing his luck until Trump says No.

Completely untrue, he'll take the credit for everything it's just that it's all mostly fake credits.
