Jim Park Voting 2025 AFL Rd 6 Carlton vs North Melbourne

Voting is as usual: you have 15 votes to award pretty much as you will, with the following provisos:
[1] 15 votes in total, no more, no less.
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player (even Sam Walsh or Patrick Cripps)
[3] Three players at least must get a mention.
[4] A grade for the game, A+ (what I want to see) to F-.

AFL Rd 6 2025:   Carlton vs North Melbourne on Good Friday

Team:   A
The media has given us no kudos at all for an 82-point win, saying that North were so poor. How poor were we in the 1st four rounds? To turn this around was a significant achievement!
Not only that, but it was also one of the most even, most complete performances we’ve had in years. I was tempted to give us an A+.

Votes:
In weeks like this 15 votes just doesn’t seem enough. All of these players deserve about triple of what they’re going to get!
[2.5]   George Hewett
[1.5]   Adam Cerra
[1.5]   Charlie Curnow
[1]   Zac Williams
[1]   Jack Silvagni
[1]   Jacob Weitering
[1]   Sam Walsh
[1]   Patrick Cripps
[1]   Blake Acres
[0.5]   Matthew Cottrell
[0.5]   Matthew Carroll
[0.5]   Mitch McGovern
[0.5]   Will White
[0.5]   Corey Durdin
[0.5]   Tom de Koning
[0.5]   Jesse Motlop

Explanations:
[2.5]   George Hewett:   A Cripps-like game with 34 disposals, 9 tackles and 12 clearances. He tired a little after half time, but it was still a game to remember!
[1.5]   Adam Cerra:      Cerra lifted after half time; after a decent first half he stepped up and got 28 disposals, 4 tackles and 5 clearances.
[1.5]   Charlie Curnow:   His best game for the year by a long way. He could have had 8 or 9, but for his kicking.
[1]   Zac Williams:      4 goals and 14 disposals from a small forward is excellent.
[1]   Jack Silvagni:      Totally dominated his position.
[1]   Jacob Weitering:   Killed his opponent.
[1]   Sam Walsh:      22 possessions, 6 tackles and 3 clearances, but it was the way he got the ball and used it, rather than the number that was different. Earlier in the season most of his possessions were crap, this time they really hurt.
[1]   Patrick Cripps:      A quiet-ish 1st half, but still manage 9 tackles and 5 clearances and a goal.
[1]   Blake Acres:      His best game for the years by a long way.
[0.5]   Matthew Cottrell:   His best game also. His disposal was a real point of difference.
[0.5]   Matthew Carroll:   Continues to show great signs in defence.
[0.5]   Mitch McGovern:   A lot more of the good McGovern and a lot less of the bad.
[0.5]   Will White:      Had only 2 possessions in the first half, but had 10 after half time and kicked 3 goals.
[0.5]   Corey Durdin:      Mark of the year contender and another couple of goals.
[0.5]   Tom de Koning:   Probably beaten on the day, but he still managed to get the ball and do some brilliant things. Certainly, his taps to advantage ended up in scoring opportunities.
[0.5]   Jesse Motlop:      Continues to show positive signs after a very slow start to the year. His time in the midfield was impressive.

Honourable Mentions:
Adam Saad:      Solid in defence, even if his man was probably North’s most effective.
Lewis Young:      Would get votes any other week. I can’t recall him having 17 disposals in a game before.
Lachie Fogarty:   Loved his attack on the ball.
Nick Haynes:      Hard to get a vote when everyone is playing well, but Haynes did his job well. Has really recovered after the start from Hell.
Cooper Lord:      On the ground for a quarter and had 6 disposals and 2 goals.
Ollie Hollands:        I loved his run and carry.
