AFL Rd 8 2025 Pre Game Carlton v Adelaide in Adelaide

We haven't done well at the Adelaide Oval, although we have won a couple of recent times.

Zac out for 10 weeks - most unreliable injury prone footballer in the history of the game.

We dont have anyone to replace his pace and foot skills - only Doc and Binns come close.

Lord needs a full game I feel - and probably rotate him for Ben C as substitute.

What happened to him?
2021-Pi$$ or get off the pot
2022- Real Deal or more of the same? 0.6%
2023- "Raise the Standard" - M. Voss Another year wasted Bar Set
2024-Back to the drawing boardNo excuses, its time
2025-Carlton can win the 2025 AFL Premiership

BenC needs to work on his foot skills, agree on Lord he might be handy starting vs the quick footed Crows.

Tom usually plays his worst games against Adelaide. Maybe a Pitto? I'd really like to see Tom take O'Brien to the cleaners, but it hasn't happened yet.

I saw Cerra grab at his groin late in the game, went off holding it and in some discomfort. I have since read he may have injured it. I also read SOS hurt his hand. Haynes hurt his shoulder so we may miss a few net week.

Hoping Thilthorpe and Fogarty don't play.
We might be  a chance too if someone can actually play on Ben Keays and not be 100 yards off him so he cant sneak out the back for his usual quota of joe the goose goals.

Cerra returned.
SOS hurt his hand very early and returned strapped up.
Haynes hurt his shoulder and was in trouble for a bit but I don’t think he left the ground…
Let’s go BIG !

Read elsewhere that Jack broke a knuckle and that his hand was quite swollen at the end of the game.
You would think that could be strapped, but the swelling may be an issue.
Wait for the official report.

Not a happy hunting ground is Adelaide.
Important to treat it with respect and not get too carried away with yesterday.

Cerra will likely get a week off from MRO.  Looked like a minor tap behind play but cats player flopped like he had been shot.

Bet he gets cited and one week as its off the ball which they want to stop.

A win this week gets our season back square at 4-4. It will also be a win on the road, against a form side with a multi pronged attack and at a ground we dont do so well on. This will be huge in the context of our season if we can get it done.

Agree....Id see this game as tougher than Geelong given the Crows will be on the rebound and they always look quick around the ball and dangerous down forward where Weitering usually finds Tex Walker to be a more difficult opponent than most.
Down back is where I think the Crows are vulnerable and Charlie and Harry seem to be working into form and thats where I think we can win the game if they get decent supply.

Just as we match up well on Geelong, Crows match us well - remember Marvel last year?

They have Hinge out courtesy MRO and possibly Tilthorpe with a finger fracture.

If Silvagni lines up on Tilthorpe, it might be a case of who punches who's hand first in the marking contest.

If we snag this, belief will be sky-high.....
This is now the longest premiership drought in the history of the Carlton Football Club - more evidence of climate change?

Silvagni likely to miss having surgery on a broken hand.  Dangerfield strikes again.
