It is so good to win.
I couldn't watch the crap we were serving up earlier; Port just wanted it more.
So glad to have the guys win, and Moir kicking 4 goals!
I was sitting back, listening to Die Walküre on ABC Classic. Couldn't get upset at our crappy play that way!

Ben Camporeale - 22 touches, 10 tackles, 7 inside 50's, 5 score involvements, 4 clearances and 1.1 - That deserves a callup.
Moir - 17 touches, 3 tackles, 4 score involvements, 4 clearances and 4.1 - Give him a go this week too
Lemmey - 3 goals from not much, get him in and rest Charlie....can't do any worse.

Pittonet - 41 hitouts, 17 touches, 4 clearances, 4 tackles, 5 score involvements - Good enough to get a game at just about every other club at the moment.

Winning is  actually irrelevant, though it is good to get the result. What was important was that they were willing to take on the game all night and didn't go into their shells when things didn't work out. If they keep running, and keep trying, and keep taking on the game, the skills and confidence will come. Hopefully we can see this sort of endeavour next week.

Lemmey was OK, but not dominant-more cameos
But if we did want to rest Charlie it's a 'maybe' (although I thought Charlie was better on Thursday than the week before)

Carroll and Cowan would be the definite ins for me
Looked a class above.
...and Ben C definitely deserves a go.
Moir is looking much better too, probably more a sub role still.

I wouldn't have been promoting Ben Camporeale on his 1st quarter and a bit; he looked off the pace and not as desperate as the Port guys were. He ended up with 22 possessions, 4 clearances and 10 tackles, so he must have upped his game considerably.

Lucas Camporeale was awful early, playing like the seniors, dropping marks and miskicking the ball, unable to score. His 15 disposals was disappointing, as he has a good pair of hands and a good leap when he is confident.

Pitto: he was leaving much of the ruckwork to Riley early, and Riley was getting flogged, but for a nice clearance in the second quarter that ended up in a goal. The most unimpressive game I've seen from the youngster to that point. He ended up with 10 possessions and 9 taps.
Pitto was ordinary early; he gave up the chase, which almost led to a Port goal. He had 1 tap in the first quarter and a bit, but ended up with 41 taps, 17 possessions, 4 clearances and 4 tackles. He really pulled the finger out!

Frankie Evans might get promoted on that effort: 24 possessions, 8 tackles, 7 marks, 3 goals 2. I don't know that he is good enough, to be honest, but our small forwards have been so ordinary it wouldn't be like he would be worse. If he does this for the seniors, he'll get more games.

Will White has really gone off the boil. 16 possessions, 1 goal 2, 3 tackles is an improvement, but he was doing much better than that last year.

I had people over so was watching it casually in the background rather than with full intent.

Cowan straight back in for mine. Sooner the better.  He's too good for vfl level, and he's a tough competitor.  He'll get beaten a bit at afl level, but he's the type that will put his head where others won't.

Moir i reckon did enough to come in.   Very creative and way more involved with the odd stint on ball.  He can potentially do the Elijah role and probably possesses more of his skillet than others.

M. Carroll was ok.  Im not sure what it is about him i dont like but im not enamoured by him.   I think its because he's not overly physical.

Charleson was interesting.

Its hard to drop anyone on Thursdays effort.  We were so bad you could replace anyone who put their hand up and imho  a few did.

Lemmey is a straight kick, and a strong mark.  He's not a dominant player he's just a key forward.  Is he a good key forward at afl level?  He's not very mobile.  Will compliment Charlie.  I would rather him forward than young but he's a bit of a one trick pony.

A fair bit changed as the game went on
Ben really picked up his game after the first quarter and his contested work was really good
Pittonet  got on top in the ruck and that seemed to give us a boost.
Riley was also (slightly)better as the game went on. Took a couple of nice marks and set up a goal, but once O'Keefe comes back he will probably get limited opportunities again.
Frankie- good early but faded after half time.

It was interesting.
I thought it was his best game by far, but we probably have to be a little wary of his possession count.
With Boyd in the seniors he took a lot more of the kick-ins than he normally would.
I'd like to see how he goes in the next couple of weeks at this level before we look at promoting him.

Easily Moir's best game. Plenty of touches, 17 of them and 4 goals. Encouraging.

Ben Campo's last half was terrific after a slow start.

I think we've all seen it with Moir.
It's one of those things were a player just looks a class above when he moves and with some of the things he does.
For those players with this X factor, sometimes the difficult looks effortless and just comes naturally.
The problem in the past has been that he's had trouble finding the ball.
That's improving.
It may not be time yet, but since he's been playing a bit on the ball he's looking like he could be the goods.

One player who didn't really shine last night was Binns
14 disposals was very un-Binns like.

If he was the target of the Voss spray last week you would think it would have sparked him up.
Or it may be he's resigned to his fate. :(
