Re: Jim Park Voting 2025 AFL Rd 19 Carlton vs Melbourne Reply #1 – Today at 01:29:03 am AFL Rd 19 2025 Carlton vs MelbourneTeam: A-I couldn’t give us an A, not the way we allowed Melbourne to kick easy goals in the 3rd and early in the last, but it was the most heart I’ve seen from the guys for a long time. We stood up in the moments that counted. Docherty’s tackle and goal, Charlie’s 3rd goal, Tom de Koning’s mark, Weitering’s spoils, Matt Carroll’s goal; they were signs that we haven’t seen for ages. I want to see more of this sort of thing!Votes:[3] Patrick Cripps[2] Jacob Weitering[2] Lachie Cowan[2] Ashton Moir[1] Matthew Carroll[1] Adam Cerra[1] Charlie Curnow[0.5] George Hewett[0.5] Adam Saad[0.5] Marc Pittonet[0.5] Sam Docherty[0.5] Cooper Lord[0.5] Zac WilliamsExplanations:[3] Patrick Cripps: Our best player by some margin, Crippa really stood up when it mattered. His disposal was also better than it has been, and his tackles was ferocious! I loved it.[2] Jacob Weitering: Jacob took on Melbourne’s best forward and killed him. 9 intercept possessions, keeping Melksham to 7 possessions.[2] Lachie Cowan: Probably Lachie’s most complete game; he defended well, ran well, tackled nicely and took half a dozen brilliant marks. He really stepped up.[2] Ashton Moir: 11 possessions and 4 goals (should have been 5, but…); Ashton had his break-out game. He took some good marks and his kicking was excellent.[1] Matthew Carroll: Matt Carroll’s best game so far, keeping his opponents down while kicking a goal himself.[1] Adam Cerra: With 20 possessions, Cerra was our 2nd best, but there are still areas of his game that really need work. He turned the ball over a couple of times and his tackle on Jefferson was woeful and cost us a goal. However, he got 8 clearances and 3 marks and was instrumental in us cancelling out Gawn’s influence.[1] Charlie Curnow: His best game in a while, because he thought before he acted. His pass to Young was excellent, for example. His 3 goals is his best return for a while, while he had 15 possessions and 8 marks. It was his tackle that was memorable. [0.5] George Hewett: Not George’s best night, but he got it 19 times, most of which weren’t turnovers.[0.5] Adam Saad: Saad was excellent in patches, but had others that weren’t quite so good, like picking up Pickett. But when the game needed to be won, it was Saad providing drive and getting the ball out of defence.[0.5] Marc Pittonet: Probably beaten on the night, but Pitto’s energy and effort nullified Melbourne main weapon: Gawn. That was a win![0.5] Sam Docherty: Not a huge game from Doc, but there weren’t as many fumbles or turnovers either. And his tackle in the last quarter and resultant kick were crucial.[0.5] Cooper Lord: Like Saad, Lord had some really good moments and a few shockers, but when he had to stand up, he did. 16 possessions was a good return.[0.5] Zac Williams: Zac threatened a lot, without being as dominant as he has been. Still, his pinpoint kicking was important.Honourable Mentions:Ollie Hollands: Not Ollie’s best game, but he never stopped running. Needs to work on his disposal and his body strength.Nick Haynes: Like Ollie, not as strong as he has been, but he stood up when it was necessary. Solid.Tom de Koning: Tom had 12 possessions, 4 marks and 5 taps, but was generally reasonably well held. His kicking was diabolical. But, cometh the moment cometh the man; Mark of the Year, right when we needed it!Harry O’Farrell: 10 possessions and 4 marks and held his own.Frankie Evans: 8 possessions doesn’t sound any better, but Frankie was a lot more dangerous than that. His goal was excellent and his courage and tackles good. Quote Selected
