Well, I think that the debate over whether we should have taken Flynn Young or Liam McMahon has been resolved.

I felt just a little sorry for Liam as he sat forlornly at the back of the bench; he was on a hiding to nothing against Weiters.

Those last 9 qtrs of the year were very encouraging albeit it was Essendon.

How excited will the Bombers be having to front up again on Wednesday. Be the last thing they'd want to do. That could be a massacre.

What a sh1t game of footy, glad that is all over & we can focus on what moves the club makes with list management as that will be far more interesting & entertaining.

Good to see that some of our players can deliver the ball accurately by foot when they are under limited (or no) pressure, which is what the Bummers offered for much of the match - even though we still managed to serve up many mis-kicks when we put ourselves under pressure - Hollands is one who is guilty of this.

Wasn't impressed by Evans in his early games for us but his ability to kick goals has clearly elevated him above Fogarty (who misses too many sitters) in my opinion.

What a nothing game - had considered going to it but Thursday nights are always hard as it is. Very glad I didn’t.

TDK is absolutely gone - At the end of his presentation for the 100th speech he said ‘Best of luck’.  Seeya 👋🏼

Really have enjoyed watching the young kids and I’m glad we finished the season on a positive note. Who stays and who goes is whatever now - absolutely loved the way Cripps spoke at the end and also love watching him play. He is always hungry for the ball no matter the situation.

I watched him miss that last one from 15 metres out, and I wondered where in the hell did the figure if 1.7m come from?  For the first 10 minutes of the game, he looked like he didn't even care.

It really couldn't be any clearer that DeKoning is gone.
Some supporters are still holding out hope.
He's made his decision, and it's a little unfair on those folks to let that "hope" drag on too much longer.
So now the season is over, just declare it publicly.
Same for Silvagni.

I've always been of the opinion that we had good reasons for not picking him up as opposed to players we picked ahead of him. McMahon was under scrutiny from our list people fo an extended period. They would have known his strenths and weaknesses and how he would have slotted into our team.

But his situation at Essendon in the last half of the season was a little different to the role he would play in a fully fit Carlton side.
He was asked to be the main man.
In a Carlton side he would be third tall at best and probably not even in the side.
At a fully fit Essendon side, he may also struggle for a spot.

Now for the ones we've picked up instead of him at the various points where we could add players-White, Carroll, Evans and Young.
Carroll has a contract till 2027
Young and Evans are both showing a bit.
I suspect we'll keep Evans. I'd like to think we'd hang on to Young as well, at least for another year.
They give us a bit of depth.
Frankie may be starting 22 even with everyone on deck.
What we need to see with both those guys is how they peform against the really top sides....(and we wont know that until next year now)
White's probably in most danger of not being kept on, and that's a bit of a shame because the kid has a really good positive attitude. He's just behind the others with a few tricks

I wouldn't take much notice of the last 2 weeks which were like practice matches.
