This is one area where we need to improve. Our kicking for goal has already lost us one game this year.

Sophie seemed to be channelling Charlie Curnow with her wheeling and going after marking (just) inside 50.  While she wasn't far off, hanging on to the ball and looking for a leading forward could have been a better option.  Lila Keck did just that with her kick to Tara Bohanna for a goal

Phew!

Brilliance from Darcy saved the day 👏

Yep, 4 possessions, clearly BOG.  ::)
Take away everything Darcy did today and we still win.

Actually, Buck's decision to move Darcy forward gave us the spark to stop Geelong's resurgence and enabled us to skip away.  Without that move, and those brilliant efforts from Darcy, we probably lose.

Have to agree.  She mayve been pretty ineffective for 3/4’s but again steadied the ship when required - amazing goal and GA wheh we were really under the pump.

Feel Like McKay and particularly Mimi kept trying to do a little too much - they are both very good and some of their teammates were letting them down so no diss on them, just hopefully they won’t feel that need and there’s much more team
Collaboration in the future,

Hard to know what, if anything is, up with Darcy. I had thought maybe they were injured or just a little out of form, but it's equally possible IMO that they are playing a role similar to Luke Hodge at the Lions : an on field coach, whose main job is not touches or goals per se, but more keeping an eye on things and keeping everyone moving in the right direction. Just a thought.

Brilliant efforts? Sure, 2. In a whole game.
Darcy got 4 touches, give them 2 goals out of it. We still win. (I think one of the touches was a toe-poke soccer before another possession).

Moved out of the backline because Darcy was invisible. Darcy has gone forward for half a game most weeks. Give us a spark late.

Go through the team and rate them in order of output today. If you Darcy in the top half from todays game you are kidding yourself. Bottom handful on the ground.
...and that is OK. Darcy did what we needed at the right time. But had no bearing on 95% of the game. Can't say the same about 20 others.

Darcy in your side is worth having.
Relying on Darcy to be in the bests on a regular basis is a thing of the past. There are simply way too many good players on our list that have overtaken Darcy....and thats a good thing.

It was an interesting performance with outstanding efforts from half a dozen players, very quiet games from another half a dozen, and some cameos like Darcy's.  Of course, the girls who didn't get a lot of the pill may have had defensive assignments, and we certainly shut down Geelong's engine room.

Give it up Kruddler ... you're on your own if you can't see how important Darcy is to the team.

You are still not getting it, nobody has said darcy isn't important.
Darcy is just not anyone near the best in the game like years gone by.

Its worth pointing out that we are 4th on the AFLW ladder.
We have played 1st, 3rd and 5th and don't play 2nd.

Our season end, will be easier than our seasons beginning.
We should stay top 4.

Too bad Darcy's name isnt jack martin.  Might get kruddler across the line.

Funny you should say that. Its very similar.

Nobody expects Jack Martin to be in the bests every week.
Nobody expects Jack Martin to win the B+F or be AA.
Jack Martin is a player you would be happy to have in your side though.

Same with Vescio.
