AFLW 2025 Rd 11 Carlton vs GWS at Carlton

We play GWS in Sunday at 15:05 at Carlton.
GWS haven't had a good year, but have been better lately, while we've lost our last 2. :(

Some of our girls really need to step up after relatively ordinary seasons so far: Keeley Skepper. Gab Pound (who has a decent excuse) and Maddy Guerin come to mind.

This is now the longest premiership drought in the history of the Carlton Football Club - more evidence of climate change?

Indeed. At least we have Tara Bohanna back. And conditions today are going to be about as bad as they get. If we want it enough, we'll win. Win both games and we play finals. Pretty simple.

No Abby and no Hill equals very ugly.

GWS are not great, so fingers crossed.

Umpires early in the year where paying free kicks for almost every tackle.

Now they are doing everything possible to avoid blowing the whistle

Ball has lived in our forward half, not sure its actually got past halfway yet, can't really get good shots on goal.

Sophie McKay with a freak goal to get us on the board.

Who thought it was a good idea to have the Carlton Respects game vs the orange team?

We are wearing orange socks with navy tops.
They are wearing orange tops with what looks like navy socks (technically its probably charcoal, but you can't tell the difference)

Giving then a good ol' thumping right now. Have to win to get back in the 8 then have a nasty one against the Eagles next week in Perth to stay there.

It has been bucketing down here and there’s quite a thunder storm.

Didn't come out switched on after the lightning break. We let them kick 2 goals, their only 2 goals. We lead 68-14. Prior to the delay we led 67-3.  Percentage will be very important getting into the 8.

Carton have been horrible since they lightning break. Giants have kicked 4 goals to none. They did lead by 65pts though. We have lost 5% since the break.

Still going to win. St. Kilda getting flogged helps us, but we've got to get our act together.

 We're up to 5th. Still, we do need to beat the Weagles.

Good to see Maddy Guerin come back to a bit of form: 24 possessions, 10 tackles, 5 clearances.
Dayna Finn: BOG: 30 possessions, 8 tackles, 8 clearances.
Lilly Goss: 22 possessions, 12 tackles and 1 goal.
