VFL Rd 10 2026 Carlton vs Geelong at Carlton

Another Saturday game, this time at 12:05 at home.
Just hope we show more than last week. We'll have to, as Geelong are on top.

Selected sides not yet available, :( :(
With some luck, we might have Williams, Saad and Lord back.
Interesting to see how we use our 3 available rucks. Riley has to play, now he is listed.

Also interesting to see who we've picked up to replace Riley on the VFL list, as well as a certain unnamed defender who St. Kilda burnt.

Would also like to see more from Cottrell and Duffy. Duffy didn't look bad a few weeks ago, but his last couple of weeks have been not so hot.

[1] So, we now know what we'll do if we have 3 rucks available: rest on of them. Reidy out this week, Riley in.
[2] We look to have more leadership this week with Lord, Williams and Saad into the side.
[3] It is no sure thing that all 3 Emergencies will play. Otherwise, we wouldn't have named such a large bench.

[4] I wonder if Davey will play? I find it unlikely, but ...

[5] 15 AFL listed players are named. Probably 14 of them will play. Hopefully, all of them.

[6] The side looks stronger, as the midfield will be boosted by Lord and Williams. Last weekend only Ben Camporeale really did much of our mids.
I hope Cottrell can stand up this week: he has struggled this year so far.

I'm a bit worried for Cottrell.
At his best he should be playing in the senior side, but he's been far from it.
He may be lucky that he has a year to run on his contract or he could be on the chopping block.
As it is he might be shopped around for a later pick unless his season picks up.

I've only just picked it up.
Geelong lead by 11 points
O Keefe just missed running in from about five yards out

the leading possession winners.

Only going on stats and Riley is doing most of the rucking.
Not going so well are Moir 3 disposals and O'Keefe 4 touches.

Might be a few of these Cats playing next game. ;)  :D

O'Keefe getting a few touches this quarter...and kicks a goal.

Cats by 41 now.
They're well on top, and we have a few not contributing.

Our three top diposal winners in the first half have barely added to their possessions and we're not getting a lot of drive elsewhere.

Matty Cottrell has looked a bit better as this second half has gone on.
