I hope that F-tard Andrew from Niddrie didn't ring up....why they give that bloke air time beggars belief.  Denial isn't a river in Egypt champ.
Pretty sure he did, if its the caller Im thinking of he called for Welsh to protest to the AFL for the deplorable umpiring. Doing the best to remove my navy goggles but I personally think we coped the rough end of the stick last night. Some of the HTB paid to them and not us was insane. The goal review where the the female umpire ran in from 500m away was dubious at best. The goal ump was about to signal a goal and she runs in asking if he was sure forcing him not only call for a review but also making him change his mind and call a behind. Then they reviewed the Zapruder film where they said they could "clearly" see the ball was touched. Pigs farken ass you could see it was clearly touched. They need to bin the ARC and score review system until they can find something that actually works 99% of the time.
2021-Pi$$ or get off the pot
2022- Real Deal or more of the same? 0.6%
2023- "Raise the Standard" - M. Voss Another year wasted Bar Set
2024-Back to the drawing boardNo excuses, its time
2025-Carlton can win the 2025 AFL Premiership

I regularly complain about the umpiring, but I can't help it: they are not paying frees that are there and guessing about some that are not. Very ordinary. I do hope we take a package of their stupidity to the powers that be and ask for an explanation.

SEN this morning an Essendon supporters was almost in tears complaining that the umpiring cost them the game!! Gee it does depend on the colours you are wearing!
Let them cry into their beer! Just look at the numbers, for a start. They had 5 more frees in total. They had at least 3 frees in the ruck that were incredibly dubious. Patrick Cripps did not get a single free, although he was grabbed before the bounce, yet his opponents got 3. Pittonet's mark stands out in the first quarter, and it wasn't alone. The number of times our players were interfered with in marking duels and got nothing beggars belief!
I could go on, but why bother. The AFL are not going to do anything about it. And yet we triumphed after dealing with such rubbish!
Let the cretins cry, they have no idea. If they can't see through their single cyclops eyes, then perhaps they need what Odysseus gave Polyphemus! That way they can have an excuse for having no idea what happened.
Live Long and Prosper!

I thought the umps were fine.

Only call i questioned was why Pittonet was not paid the mark on the goal line.

I thought Harry McKay was good, arguably our best. Ainsworth, Florent, Pittonet, McGovern, Hewett not far behind. Hayward was all over the shop. Captain Cripps sprang to life in the second and really led the charge. Watching him get a clean break from a center clearance and hit our forwards lace out is one of my favorite sights in footy. I thought the young blokes were probably a little down tonight : Cowan, Ison, Byrne, Dean. I thought Nate Caddy was hampered more by poor delivery than by our defenders. Frankie Evans did some nice things. Derksen okay in small patches, but clearly a work in progress for now.

There was a facebook thing were the players give a shout out to a player who performed well / BOG.

Harry Dean got the most votes, just in front of Haynes and Byrne was 3rd IIRC.

I did make a comment in the in-game thread about Dean who i thought was dominating.
Haynes surprised me though.
Byrne is understandable.

I need to go back and watch the replay back but they received an  extraordinary number of free kicks at the centre bounce, whether it be a ruck infringement or holding free against us.

It was a funny game in some respects, because while a lot of players were off their best, there were 'moments' you can remember for just about everyone, where they contributed a little bit of something to the result.

There was  bit of a gap between their best and worst.... all within the space of one game.
Jack Ison was arguably the least effective of our players but he still had 6 score involvements.

Please bombers were screwed over. We would be filthy the other way around which is often usually the case.

Do you need directions to Windy Hill? ;)

Please! If there was any 'screwing over' we did it to ourselves. Flatter than a witch's tit in the first half, missed shots on goal and the Bummers didn't capitalize. We even screwed ourselves over in the final few minutes, relaxing and letting them back in. Should have won by 3-5 gls.
Only our ruthless best, from Board to bootstudders will get us no. 17

See above as the only real issue i saw with free kicks and they 100% got the better judgement there. Of course its ruck rules, so not even the rucks know which way its going most of the time.

Also worth pointing out final free kick count was 25-19 their way.

different story if essendope had more of there senior players in ,i see it as a lucky win and we have the team that kicks ball STRAIGHT to opposition most times no other team does like we do

There were several non-decisions that both teams seems to miss out on, marks and obvious holding frees, I can't say they would have made much difference but we did miss out on several well inside our F50 in the first half.

The commentary went on about the Cripps not being rewarded on the boundary line just outside the 50m arc, bit to me that was the least significant of the non-decisions. I thought Pitto should have had two frees within close range inside our F50 and they just weren't paid. And the ruck center line penalties are becoming a joke with most occurring due to the umpires throwing the footy up in favour of one ruck.

They were equally frightful for both sides.

Essendon boards are blowing up.
We've been "constructively critical" by pointing out areas where they might be able to improve :D  :D

Looks like the 'colliding with umpires backing back' might be a focus for a week or two. ;)

The dodgy free that annoys me most beyond the stupid ruck rules is players getting pinged 50m for a moment of confusion about who was being directed to stand, in this regard often umpires contribute to the problem. It's not good enough to just say players need to be aware, they can barely hear each other let alone an umpire 15m away!

I like Heyward's mongrel but not the stupidity that yet again led to a dopey free kick for a late bump.

I was impressed by Derksen's offensive contributions; he offers much more in that area than Lewis Young's indecisiveness but, unfortunately he is 5 or 6 cm shorter and is something of a liability overhead.

Good to see Acres and Hewitt back in form and favour.
