Jack Ison needs a spell IMO. Not moving well, seems to have lost confidence.

He seemed more instinctive in his earlier games but in the last couple he seems to be thinking too much and playing slower.
If he's play next week and we win he breaks Ryan Houlihan's record. 6-0 is the best start to a career a player has. Play as if we win Ison holds the record outright.

I am somewhat surprised at the lukewarm positivity on here. This is a big deal. Not many teams win 6 on the trot.

We monstered West Coast in very facet : in the air, ground ball, attack, pressure, effort, defence. We led the entire game. All the stats are significantly in our favour. They've been in close games in recent weeks and managed to jag a win against Essendon. I know despite their song, West Coast are not exactly flying high, but it's been several weeks since they lost by over 5 or 6 goals (in fact R7 against St Kilda).

Camarades, encore un effort !

Not sure people know how to react given our horrendous start to the season, me included. This teams performance is a far cry from the one that ran out at the start of the season so hard to know what to believe. Games against bogie teams in the coming weeks will be telling but let’s all enjoy this resurgence as it so probably where we should have been all along in 2026.

That's fair enough I guess. I'm not sure I would call the recent performances a far cry, although this is clearly a contentious issue. I think what has happened in recent weeks is that we have turned the winnable games earlier in the season into winning games. That in itself is a great achievement, for which Fraser deserves considerable credit. But I'm not seeing the quantum leaps that others are. It's a progression IMO.

Cmon Paul, its West Coast.

2026 - 4 wins, 11 losses
2025 - 1 win, 22 losses
2024 - 5 wins, 18 losses
2023 - 3 wins, 20 losses
2022 - 2 wins, 20 losses

15 wins, 91 losses
14% win loss record over their past 106 games. Even Pagan managed a 25% win rate with us.

Oh they beat essendon did they? The team that has 1 win from their past 27 games? What an achievement.

Lets celebrate the win, but lets not overstate the opponent to make ourselves feel better.
We were poor for half a match. They have been poor for 5 years.

Talor Byrne got some real result for effort today, but for the chest mark he spilt. His snap was one of the goals of the year.
For all that, I'd like to see him work on his kicking and his strength in the off-season. I think he is going to be a keeper.

Seems to be surprisingly strong and hard to move for a smaller player - certainly uses his body well against bigger opponents.
His bodying skills are excellent. He can also take a leap, although we haven't seen much of that yet.
Still, he has a lot of development left in him. He could well end up with some of the Wayne Harmes about him. And that extra muscle would help his kicking depth and his tackling.
Live Long and Prosper!

I think the Weagles aren't going to be the rabble they have been. They seem to be on the right track. That is why I am happy we managed to put the foot down when we did.
If we played the Weagles of, say, 2024 today, we'd have won by over 100 points, even without a Charlie Curnow kicking 10. They have been awful, but they are not any longer. Hopefully, we can see them stumble, rather than come on. That way, we might be able to convince Reid that being on the east coast is a better alternative (especially in a dark blue guernsey).

Eagles had a decent 5 weeks leading to . Beat GWS, lost by a goal to Port, after beating them early in the year in Adelaide, lost to North by a point, beat them early in the year, and had a very close one against the Pies on Pendles record game. Of course, beat Essendon as we all do, as you said. Bar a couple of real super stinkers, they have been better than other years.

Nothing to trouble us though. 9 goal win that felt like 5 but should have been 15.

Far cry may be a stretch but we don't look like going missing for a quarter or more which had become embarrassingly predictable. The St Kilda game was the worst I’ve seen live for a long time, hopefully those days are behind us.

Yes, remember beating then 2nd last game in 2024 in Perth by 65pts with literally 19 blokes out of the side.

No, they are not the same, but they are still a poor side.

They havent won a game in Melbourne since 2023.....against any team!

They've had 3 bigger losses than today, this year already.

Sure, better form. Still crap;

I think fans are measuring the result against our recent history, so it looks extremely positive, it's like having a meat raffle win when you are a pauper, the win is a feast.

But it's the wrong relative measure, it should be measured against competition wide results, we aren't supping on lobster just yet, really it was the sort of minimal result we should be expecting if we are any good at all!
