Jim Park Voting AFL Rd 16 2026 Carlton vs West Coast

Voting is as usual: you have 15 votes to award pretty much as you will, with the following provisos:
[1] 15 votes in total, no more, no less.
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player (even Sam Walsh or Patrick Cripps)
[3] Three players at least must get a mention.
[4] A grade for the game, A+ (what I want to see) to F-.

AFL Rd 16 2026   Carlton vs West Coast
Team:      A
I am happy with the result, as we managed to put a team away for a change. Could have been better, but we must always look to improve.

Votes:
As often with a game like this, managing the 15 votes will be a challenge. Most of our top players will not get as many votes as they could have. However, I would rather this problem than the reverse.
[1.5]   Patrick Cripps
[1.5]   Ben Ainsworth
[1.5]   Sam Walsh
[1.5]   Harry Dean
[1]   George Hewett
[1]   Jagga Smith
[1]   Harry McKay
[1]   Billy Wilson
[1]   Lachie Cowan
[1]   Nick Haynes
[0.5]   Talor Byrne
[0.5]   Nic Newman
[0.5]   Ollie Florent
[0.5]   Frankie Evans
[0.5]   Wade Derksen
[0.5]   Mitch McGovern

Explanations:
[1.5]   Patrick Cripps:      31 possessions, 6 tackles and 9 clearances. Another Cripps game.
[1.5]   Ben Ainsworth:   Probably his best game in our colours. He was instrumental in many of our best moves, and his kicking was what we needed. 28 possessions, 2 tackles, 5 clearances and an excellent goal.
[1.5]   Sam Walsh:      33 disposals, 4 tackles and 5 clearances was only the start. The way he ran and made space, his excellent hands and his commitment were excellent.
[1.5]   Harry Dean:      Kept Waterman goalless and provided huge positives for us in defence with his attack on the ball, his spoils, his intercept marking and his ability to smother his opponent.
[1]   George Hewett:   Another very solid game from George. 2 gaols should have been 3.
[1]   Jagga Smith:      Brilliant early and excellent throughout the game.
[1]   Harry McKay:      One of his better games, H was dynamic.
[1]   Billy Wilson:      Another excellent game from Wilson in defence. His run and kicking was excellent.
[1]   Lachie Cowan:   When it was hot, Lachie was excellent. 19 possessions and 9 marks.
[1]   Nick Haynes:      A brilliant game from Haynes, with interceptions, tackles, marks and more.
[0.5]   Talor Byrne:      Not huge numbers, but he got some real reward today. His snap from the picket was elite.
[0.5]   Nic Newman:      Another solid game from Nic Newman.
[0.5]   Ollie Florent:      Florent was fine in defence with his run, his interceptions and his attack on the ball.
[0.5]   Frankie Evans:   Not back to his best, but Frankie got some reward today. More possessions and real impact.
[0.5]   Wade Derksen:   Wade deserves a mention for taking out Shanahan, for making some great interceptions and for some saving marks.

Honourable Mentions:
Brodie Kemp:      A lot of work for little reward. Still Kemp was a contributor.
Adam Cerra:      On many occasions, Cerra would have got votes for his game, but today he has to look on.
Will Hayward:      I couldn’t squeeze Hayward in either. He started pretty slowly, but was dynamic when it was important.
Marc Pittonet:      Pitto may have been beaten in the ruck, but he did a power of work and was very influential in getting the ball moving our way.
