In the AFL we have lost our most effective in and under player in George Hewett (Cripps aside) and with finals nearly out of reach, perhaps time to give Ben Campo his try at AFL level.
Hopefully this year we will give all the young untried AFL listed players a couple of games and not repeat what we did with Harry Lemmey.
ie. Ben and Lucas  Camporeale, Harry Charleson.

Im probably prepared to keep going with Ison for development, Williams is more of a spare parts backup player for me if we get injuries at either end of the ground.
Id definitely bring back Acres and think about Fogarty if the conditions were poor....

Fair comment on Fogarty.  His cards have probably been marked but, if Hewitt can't go, he might be worth a run in the midfield rotation.
Thats how I see it RR, bit of horses for courses if its wet and being able run onball as part of the rotation if Hewett is out.The game will more than likely be a grind rather than a shoot out and suit Fogarty.

Fogarty might be suited EB but we'd learn more playing a kid.
I suspect Charleson might have done enough to be re-signed.
Moir looks out the door - Troy Menzel mark 2, albeit quicker and even more "talented". What a waste.
Chesser is a bust, pay him out and move him on.
DrE is no more... you ok with that harmonica man?

I'd also like to see Charleson given a run at AFL level.

From the little I saw it seemed Moir was the only passenger. I'd love to watch the game in full but don't know if there's a replay?
There will be on afl.com.au, but it usually doesn't come for some hours afterwards. I usually get to see the game the day after it happens, although sometimes it comes up on the night.

[1] Very disappointed in Moir. Someone needs to get in his ear and tell him how the game works. he is too good simply to discard, but he is offering very little.

[2] I would have played Acres last night. Not surprised that he was good. 26 disposals, 4 clearances (not usually a large part of his game), 3 tackles and 6 marks on a day not good for marking says a lot.

[3] Liam Reidy: he might not have been BOG this week, but he is combative. He got 14 possessions, 7 clearances, but only 1 mark. Considering that we were after Ramsden, he can say he is worth a little more. But, what is his future? Like Riley, he approaches every ruck contest basically the same way. That is not a method that the best rucks use.

[4] What did people think of Alwyn Davey? He had 9 possessions, 1 clearance for 1 goal 2. Not great numbers, but it was his first outing?

Given we are out of wildcard on percentage and won 7 from the last 8, that is certainly not out of reach. Best to look at who will get us there to an extent at least.

I've got Williams in for Ison next week up forward. He regularly hits the scorebaord.

I'm thinking Ison's best way to develop further in the near term is in the two's to get his confidence back. It helped Byrne. Sometimes you just have to do that. Williams has always been a consistent goal scorer forward.

The running goal he kicked was pretty impressive.
But apart from that not much else...I reckon we hold off on judgements for a couple of weeks.

Yes, Alwyn probably needs another couple of games to get up to speed, but Tyson Gresham has him covered at this stage.

I've been saying recently that it might be time to give Ison a break in the 2's. He has clearly lost confidence, his kicking has dropped off, he is fumbling more and not kicking goals. Time for him to get a recharge. He'll be back in a couple of weeks, after he has that swagger back.

Gresham had 12 possessions, 2 clearances and 1 tackle, but didn't kick a goal.
One thing I do like about Gresham is his team-orientation: he is always on the lookout to give it to someone in a better position. He certainly set up goals in recent weeks.
On the downside is how easy he is to brush off. Like a few of our kids, he needs some more time in the gym. If he sticks his tackles, his effectiveness would improve significantly.

One thing I liked about Reidy today was that he kicked 2 goals from ruck stoppages. Whatever his limitations, eh can think on his feet.

Flynn Young seems to have some of his early season form back. I didn't see the long leads that he was doing in the first few rounds, but he jagged a couple from crumbs, which doesn't happen a lot with our guys.

The other thing I noted is that our guys don't appear to have the body strength that many of their opponents had. We might be running out games better, but we really need to get stronger, all across the park.

Didn't see any of the game but based on summaries and the form of the 1s, its pretty clear to me that we need to make a couple changes.

1. Williams into the 1s.
Losing George, we need some mid help.
Kicking goals is a struggle up forward, zac is our most effective when played there.
Clearly can play down back as well.
With 5 on the bench, surely you find a spot for this utility.

2. Acres should never have been dropped and should be back in the 1s.

We know george is out.
So we need 1 more to make way.
To me it seems to be between ison and hollands. Either way, those ins can cover us.

I wouldnt be playing fogarty. Hes gone at seasons end.
You could think about playing flynn young as well....but not sure there is a spot for him.
