The Hawks were obviously smarting after last week and were determined to make amends. They were on from the get go. I didn't think we'd win, but I was hoping for a much closer tussle than this.

8mins to go in the last and we are 61 points down in a match dominated by the heavy rain.

A number of our bit-part players have been shown up too, the bubble has well & truly burst tonight.

The rain and the utterly woeful umpiring haven't helped our cause.

Commentators keep pumping up Rileys tyres.
First game, good to give him a wrap.

But only had 6 touches, 14 hitouts, 2 clearances.

Meek his direct opponent has had 16 touches, 49 hitouts and 10 clearances.

Apart from Rileys lucky goal....he's been very well beaten.


....which is fine, its his first game and in terrible conditions....but are the commentators watching the game?

We should have enough smarting from a 1-7 start and sacked coach to last a decade. If our blokes are motivated to beat the best, they need to go and find another line of work.

I think everyone was expecting us to give them a really good run for their money, sadly, we have gone back to the Voss era standards.

They are judging him relative to other players who have been in the AFL for 46 days, and so they should.
