[1] I know that afl.com.au is often pretty slow when it comes to publishing team lists, but putting them like this? Get real!
Big Footy have a slightly more up to date version, complete with Emergencies, which this version doesn't have, but it is still pretty dubious as to how we'll actually line up.

[2] Does this mean that Lucas C and Fogarty will play? They will improve our run. Fogarty has been in excellent form. Tucker is also an important inclusion.

[3] Alwyn Davey wasn't bad last week. Hopefully, he can continue to show something.

[4] Like last week, I look at the Lion's team sheet and I wonder how they could have been so poor across the season. There is real talent out there. They have 15 listed players named, guys who have played more senior footy than our guys, with the exception of Saad and Williams.

[5] Not all of our senior Emergencies will play, not with the game tonight. At least one will miss. Not sure which, to be honest.

[6] Our team is still so lacking in key position players that I can barely accept it. Still no Moir, and he isn't a key position player. We do have some work to do in this year's recruiting period!

Well that's interesting, all emergencies for tonight are playing in the Magoos. One removed at half time for the seniors?

Gee, Lucas C's disposal is holding him back.
He gets the ball a fair bit...up to 13 already but...
Even by hand he's missed a couple of easy targets.

22 points in front at the moment, but Brisbane are having a good period.
Back to 16.

16 point lead at half time

O'Keefe has 3
Lucas C leads the possession with 19
We lost a bit of momentum during that quarter and let them back into a game where we had good control.
We need to get back to work next quarter.

Saad isn't having a bad game.
He's been a bit off the boil in recent times but is much more involved today.

Neither of the Campo boys have disposal up to the standard. Think Ollie uses the ball better and that does not say much. Like Ollie they work diligently.

All three emergencies are still out there.

Oh dear, Ollie... what a terrible pass to your leading forward which opened the gates for Brisvegas. Early in the third we seem to be stuffing up this opportunity with poor disposal by foot.

HOK maybe saying "don't delist me just yet"

Of course, they did mention Lemmey....who kicked 7.....and was delisted anyway.

Evidently the VFL Lions are a very different proposition to their AFL counterparts. Hopefully this win gives the seniors a bit of a rev up, because tonight will be a huge challenge.

Evidently. But why? God knows these guys have opportunities to play in a line-up that has won premierships recently. They had at least 14 listed players, including Lincoln McCarthy, Doedee, Sam Marshall and Tunstill. Cody Curtin also looks to be a player. So, why are they so ordinary? Doesn't make sense to me.
They have 4 guys on their injury list, including Gallop, who is suspended.

Whatever.

I am glad we won, surprised we won by so much, and very pleased by the performances of some of our lad.

[1] We had the 8 top possession getters on the field. 8!
Ollie Warburton: 32 possessions, 6 clearances, 10 marks and a goal. Must be his best game at VFL level so far.
Lucas Camporeale: 32 possessions and 14 marks. His best game since his injury, easily.
Zac Williams: 31 possessions, 6 marks. He hasn't had these numbers for a while.
Lachie Fogarty: 30 possessions, 11 marks, 3 tackles, 3 clearances: in his career he hasn't had numbers like this consistently!
Harry Charleson: 30 possessions from defence and 11 marks. He must be near a senior game.
Adam Saad: 27 possessions, 8 marks: again he appears in decent form and will deserve a farewell game.
Ben Camporeale: 26 possessions, 6 tackles and 6 clearances. Ben is impressing me more. His numbers stand up and was noticed last week, he tends to back-end games.
Darcy Tucker: 25 possessions, 2 tackles 3 clearances: he is filling the role Will Hayes has filled in recent times. If he'd been a little less injured, he would be doing well in our B&F. Certainly, he is bring some leadership, which is much appreciated in a young team.

[2] Having a winning ruck division makes a difference.
Riley had 20 possessions, 29 hit outs, and 6 clearances. Not a bad day at the office for a young ruckman.
Hudson O'Keefe had 10 possessions, but kicked 5 goals and provided a target. He also had 13 taps.
The Brisbane rucks didn't have an impact. Zane Zakostelsky, who is more of a key position type (at least he was when he was drafted) had 14.

[3] Liam Farrar continues to kick goals:
He managed 3 again this week and has been acting as the key forward we don't have. He must be on the radar for 2027.

[4] Ison is slowly getting his mojo back:
Jack Ison continues to show he has a future. Last week he did some impressive things that led to scores, including hitting the post form 60 me away. This week he got a goal and managed 17 possessions.

[5] Our VFL defenders keep getting the job done.
The Brisbane forwards had a dry morning. There is little more I can say until I've seen the replay, but none of their key forwards fired. Harvey, Paea and Duffy keep getting the job done.
