Two pretty significant changes in the past coupla months have been the disposal by foot and ability to change angles and use the entire ground - that's real hard to defend. And with such strong connection over the entire field our forwards are all now ...dangerous.
Only our ruthless best, from Board to bootstudders will get us no. 17

We are also tackling with intent.
I haven't seen a Carlton team tackle to hurt in god knows how long.
There were some passages of play they didn't want to take possession for fear of getting tackled with the ball.
It's great to see.
2025... Moir of the same to come

Gang tackling also, very good to see.
2022- Real Deal or more of the same? 0.6%
2023- "Raise the Standard" - M. Voss Another year wasted Bar Set
2024-Back to the drawing boardNo excuses, its time
2025-Carlton can win the 2025 AFL Premiership
2026-Slow start, we can kick after all, why not?

Methodical, organised, balanced.

No longer reliant on a few. Used to be Cripps, Charlie or bust now we have a spread.

Credit to Ross the Toss this time. Made no excuses and said the box was very worried and obvious they had the issues before Milera broke down - he said we couldn't stop our uncontested ball use despite putting things in place.

Fraser has changed how we play and there is a full buy in. The evidence is there. He is getting the best out of the list and we now sit exactly where i thought we should. We are a mid table team and whether we make the wildcard or just fall short the list is in good shape and with a few tweaks will only get stronger.  The difference in our ball use and ball movement is remarkable to see.

The pressure on TDK to perform on massive dollars and was carved up by a tough, determined plodder on a measly $400-$500K. That The boos Jack got whenever anywhere near it was unrelenting - and it was their home game!

Big money comes with big expectations - wonder if those 2 are privately having any regrets?

TDK didn't really want to leave but that money was too good. He's likely envious but happy enough too. What went through St.Kilda's mind paying that and for 7 years.  JSOS might be thinking more about it. He was likely hearing crap about his dad around the club and left but could would be thinking,"maybe I could have lived with it". He missed 2023 from memory too. Fair chance JSOS may never play a final.

Ross is a master at playing the media, not suggesting he was disingenuous in his comments but he totally diffused the media pack but paying credit to us while giving a secondary nod to their injuries.
Ross isn't quite the tosser he used to be. Looks he he genuinely enjoys his coaching and footy these days.

He probably just hides it better.

I thought StKilda put.in a brave effort considering the amount of injured players they had.

A quick look on Big Footy and one fan is blaming Corey Enright for their last few years. He wants us to take him and they will take Fraser lol.

An assistant from the outside only looks at good as the head coach's performances allows. Unless you're on the inside it tough to know how good an assistant is.

I wonder what was going through Enright's mind as he sat beside Ross last night.
There may have been a bit of mixed emotions over the possibilities.

Fraser is showing that rare ability, at Carlton in particular, to find where a player is best suited.

Cerra playing that quarterback type role and Franky delivery those spearing passes into the forward line for instance .Is Framky the best kick at the club?

What was a nice surprise to see was that Cripps sideways kick when going into the forward line. It shows to me that the skipper is leading the way and is listening to the coaches. We're not bombing it long to your Wilkies anymore. Fraser has found a way to stop that rubbish that crept in when we had both Charlie and Harry as targets.

We're a well drilled side now and playing to our strengths. I wont mention Wilsons field passing in the afterglow of such a pleasing win.
I saw what he was trying there (if its the kick I think).  He had not much on, and was trying to bring Hayward central from the wing.  His kick hooked a little, so it went right to left by a few metres, and that was why St. Kilda were able to chop it off.  Degree of difficulty on it was quite high.

Besides that, Wilson generally takes on very dangerous kicks, and I would be loathe to discourage him from doing so.

Its refreshing to see us tighten up on the opposition analysis, but in game you can still see things get through ala Liam Ryan out the back of that contest at the start of the second quarter.

Personally, the biggest difference I can see, is that the boys are hunting in packs, and summing up situations better than we used to.

Its great how we all see the game in different ways and can highlight them on here.  Lods and his delist list comment. hahaha

I actually didn’t think that was our best game at all - scrappy and imo with their injuries we should’ve thumped them.

The crap kicking at goal just does my head in.  Right in front and OOTF or a behind. I just think thats inexcusable.

And McG just frustrates me, he can be quite good but also the dropped marks and the miskicks just hurt. I am glad Kemp got that last goal but something needs to be done to correct whatever issue he has otherwise. I also wish Young hadve taken that last shot too in the hopes of landing it for his confidence.

I thought Byrner was just terrific - his toughness and endeavour just warms my heart - as per H Dean.

Hate StK so very happy to win it and feel quite ambivalent to JSOS and TDK - think it was an error they left and you wonder now of the future of the Silvagni legacy at Carlton. Its just a bit sad.

Yes. If you looked at the scoreboard it looks like we kicked straight. Looks can be deceiving. Missed some stinkers. It's the only thing that's been a problem in the last 12 weeks.

From the moment NWM was injured, I've never seen Ross the Boss look so disinterested in the game, maybe he's about to pull the pin!

Well he and the bench were shown continuously throughout the game, more so than the farking game! So infuriating. The telecasts and commentary have just gotten worse and worse.

With an exception - Abbey Holmes is an absolute natural in her interviews with the players, she outclasses BT Reiwoldt and Hamish McL.

Did anyone hear BT say after Nas’ injury a snide remark about how the players weren’t able to warm up on the ground before the game - inferring the AFLW game gad somehow contributed to Nas’ injury 🙄 ffs so sick of these dinosaurs getting airtime.

NRL comes out for an early warm up, then completes most of it inside before arriving back on the ground moments before the start of play. They have more repeat / explosive running than AFL.

NWM, Ross the Boss exposed the truth post game, he had a hip pointer during the week which is why he didn't train, almost certainly bleeding or inflammation in the upper leg has cause his hammy problem.

btw., BT was in a sour mood, not happy commentating Carlton and not happy working Sunday night. He should have been stoic and kept himself up for the Spud game instead of dragging it down, but he can't help himself when he commentates our games, He'll talk about the clouds, seagulls, grass or even the garbage before he mentions the footy!

I am of the age that I remember when the chant was "Shame Fraser Shame". I must admit I am struggling a bit with the "We Want Fraser" one. Surely the St.Kilda experiment of Lyon and Silvagni has run its course. I watched the replay of the Gold Coast game last week and I was impressed by the number of very good players they have, they just don't play as a team. St.Kilda don't have enough good players, and while they are well drilled and well prepared, they don't look committed. Not sure what their recruiting strategy is or whether it is working.
Carlton wasn't as clean this week as last, which is expected, but we were pretty good. We next week not only do we make the ten, we finish up ninth and we may have a shot at Collingwood. Our skills look ok, our young guys are doing well, the spirit at the Club is good, our recruiting seems to be coming together, I am not sure what all the fuss was about at the start of the year.
