AFLW Rd 2 2026 Carlton vs Adelaide at Carlton

At 15:20 on Sunday afternoon at Carlton.
Adelaide did lose last week.

[1]  A big boost to have Sophie McKay and Keeley Sherar in.

[2] Boileau will miss against her former side, but she doesn't look far away. That Bohanna has been dropped says that our young key forwards appear to be doing something solid.

Bohanna missing is interesting.

I think she plays a more solid, predictable game. As the music men put in reference to Tony Lockett.....
"Lead, mark, kick a goal, kick a goal, kick a goal...."

All the others are more crafty types....Vescio, Sophie, NMD, Keck.....with Scholz a bit of that, but definitely more of the future.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Blues 20 points up late in the last quarter. Not a lot of time to go in a low scoring game.

We've only played Adelaide once, (before today) since our last (and only) win against them.......in 2020.

Bit surprising, but ill take it.

Our girls look like the real deal.
Just gotta see if anyone can beat the juggernaut that is the Kangas.

Adelaide had the top 2 possession getters, but we had 8 of the top 11! A good spread of possessions all across the field.
Erone Fitzpatrick: 30 possessions, but 3 points.
Mimi Hill: 28 possessions

I didn't see the game, but Vescio is in that sort of career stage that gives her maximum influence when correctly managed.

She can do the boring job better than most, or if needed light a spark, and using her experience she can seamlessly switch between those two modes of play. Her experience let's her switch on and off, step into the front line or out to the fringes, as required, not unlike Cripps. Half the trick is knowing the "when" and that's the thing experience delivers.

The other thing about Darcy is her infectious enthusiasm.  She never misses congratulating and encouraging and helps to drive standards.
