I didn’t see any being in Daegu, South Korea, just followed the scores. Doesn't matter. Got through some early nerves to hold Melbourne to 3.10 after qtr time to have a terrific win.

I have a few friends up there competing (mostly throws).

I thought Weitering, Dean, Ben Ainsworth, Jagga, Walsh and Crippa were the standouts, with a handful of others very close behind.

I read a bit on another site that kind of sums up our position.
"We're playing with house money"

We are here against all the odds, and it's a "no real cost" situation if it ends sometime in the next few weeks.
We're in a good position with some of the best youth in the land and we can look forward to next season with some positive expectations...unlike last year where we were facing a player exodus.

One of the features of the way we're playing is that even if a player isn't having the best of games they're just about all having important moments.
Evans get's five goals last week and gets none this week, but he does make eight tackles-including some really important ball winning ones.

Only the most optimistic of us would see us going all the way this year, but it's not over until it's over.
It really is a case of 'one week at a time'.
Next week...a six day break a rested Geelong, but a team we match up well against.
Not out of the question.

Everyone played a role I reckon. Ollie H's workrate was outstanding. Lewis and Pitto gave Gawn a very hard time, I think Lord ran with Kosi for the most part and kept him subdued. Everyone chipped in when needed. The importance of Haynes was on show, Weiters, Dean and Haynes were formidable last night. A good team effort to turn a 20 deficit into a 19 pt win.

To nullify the best ruckman in the land is a great achievement, Gawn was outstanding last week. Pitto is our most important player and has been for some time. Gawn wasn"t clunking marks either which he usually always does. Melbourne were always looking for Gawn to take a mark at the kickins and we stopped that entirely and they were lost to get the ball out of there backline.

 We're a beautiful team to watch at the moment. Its not only the players, the line coaches and specialist coaches are working in cinc . It makes me wonder how we had all this hidden talent ready to go with Fraser being the catalyst. I would love to know the thoughts of the exodist players from last year. They did us a favor by effin off and that includes TDK because he has allowed Pitto to be our number 1 ruck. Nothing flash about Pitto but he's a smart boy.

Well that was just bloody delicious.

No matter what the Go Dees threw at us we had the answers, and then some. No fear of making mistakes, total respect for the opposition's best and everyone knowing their roles - no reliance of superstars.

Cudos to Ollie H and Weiters for returning to the seniors and adapting and adjusting to a slightly different approach.

Deano aint no one-dimensional defender, yep does the spoils and other defensive things so well but remains engaged and seeks to be an offensive option as well... similar to his old man.

Not over-awed by champs like Gawn and Kozzi... Or a scoreboard deficit.

Hold Frankie and The Byrner goalless... doesn't matter... Ainsworth pops up for 3 and mids chime in, too (not necessarily with goals but involve themselves in creating goal opportunities). Even when our small forwards are held goalless, they create opportunities for others. Bravo. And when I mention mids, that includes Pitto.

Now for a completely different opponent with their own set of challenges. Bring on the Pussycats.

Not the prettiest match to watch, we fumbled really badly early too.

It was great to get the win but given a lot of our players were playing their first ever final, I do think we will be better for the run next week as a result.

Geelong are beatable, but we can't serve up the same crap we did in the first quarter against them.

I was sending texts around during the match questioning our desperation & want to chase & pressure. Finals are a different beast and you will get found out very quickly if you don't play with a reckless & uncompromising assault on the contest.

There was a lot to like last night but equally, there is still some tinkering to be done if we want to go a little further in this finals series.

I particularly liked Lord's role on Pickett as he was the one who could have sparked the Dees back into the match. Thing is, Pickett got more & more frustrated with the hard tag Lord gave him so he tried to do the mercurial highlight reel stuff which he fluffed badly & played into our hands.

Being able to change tact when it wasnt working is another major difference in the Frazer era and made me feel confident even when things werent on our terms we would prevail.

No cripps no Carlton era is officially over

Weitering when fit is the best defender in the comp and all the trading talk now looks like absolute nonsense. Was a road block for them and his intercepting defending along with Dean is first rate. So confortable with out back 6 for the next 5 plus years.

Austin using the number of pick swaps to get Jagga was questioned at the time but thank god we have this little champ in our club. Has swagga, poise and is calm decision making in the biggest games and in congestion. Sign him up for 10 years.

Walsh is an absolute machine and his gut running when the game was on the line was inspiring stuff.

And dean omg - has there been a key position back ever player a season like his in year one. WTF. this bloke is an absolute star. backs himself in woth his sure hands and then his spot up kicking is elite.

And special mention to the new imports in Ainsworth and Florent again played important roles along with our defensive forwards who made the crowd erupt with from behind run down tackles. Lord role on Pickett was great and Pitto as usual gave his all against an all time great.

Really missed Haywood so if he comes in and we got thru unscathed we will be every chance to continue the run next week.

Haynes is deadset elite as that sweeping defender/exit player with his experience and nous, we'll miss him if he's not there

Excellent all round effort by the boys to incrementally and systematically contain Melb. Very professionally done. Loved Pitto’s effort in eventually nullifying Gawn who looked spent to me as the 2H unfolded and also a great effort by Lord in largely nullifying Kosie. We are becoming a very professional outfit. Loved it!!
Reality always wins in the end.

I thought Ollie was given a game last week as a window dressing exercise for the trade period then we got to see last night what he brings.  He had Langford gassed during the first half trying to keep up then kept going and going and not doing his turnovers. He's coming into his prime now so we'll keep him thanks.
