Last season the Bulldogs had six posters (Rd 6), five posters (Rd 11) and four posters (Rd 2).  The most posters other teams scored that season was three.

If it does come to an end at some stage in the next few weeks then hopefully we go down fighting but in any event 2026 has given us a lot to be pleased about...
We've seen the development of some really good young players and some of our older guys have recaptured some previous good form and enthusiasm.
As Fraser keeps saying though, we're not the finished product, and there are still things we need to work on.
All I know is that we will taking some beating, and that is a good thing. I have always said that I yearned for the day we were hard to play against, we are just about there.

I believe the Weiters trade talk came about through those speculating that the only way we can get Cody W is to trade 'a Weitering' to get the draft picks necessary. Fuelled by the fact that in the past GW has traded 'names'. So then these cabbageheads put two and two together and come up with cottage cheese.

We'll just have to wait to find out what the club strategy is to land Cody. Buckle up.

Before all that, there was a story about north are throwing huge money at Weitering.

Weitering is going nowhere. the club is not that stupid to trade our best key backman with 5-6 years of peak footy.

you build defences around Weitering and Dean.

you dont separate them.

I didn't know they were showing the two Wildcard games on TV here in South Korea. Husband of my athlete was telling me. He scrolled through the channels looking for the baseball and accidentally found it. There's around 190 channels and just had to scroll through.

Cursing I didn't know. Could've watched the Pies lose with a kick after the siren and Carlton win.

It actually started as a hypothetical proposed by a Fox Footy bozo that was comprehensively dismissed by Drew Petrie as not going to happen.

Most of these trade scenarios are hypotheticals with no basis in fact.

I can tell you the club that has historically been into Weiters more than any other, courtesy of his relative's activities at player management level, is Melbourne. The team Weiter's barracked for before becoming a Bagger, and a team short of KPDs after the ultimate demise of May and the ongoing injury issues of Lever.

The "Norp" part of the "Norp Melb" rumour is the error / fiction, and none of this necessarily means Weiter's himself has had any involvement, which is often the case.

Player Managers usually act in the best interests of the "Player" and the "Player Manager"!

We shouldn't be shocked, excluding a few radical fans, players like Weiters, Walsh, Cripps, Harry, etc., etc., are in high demand, if there is even a slight chance they will be investigated.

Well I watched the video after being in transit and I wasn't overtly impressed.  Hard game to assess. A few, particularly those in the front half looked overawed.  Byrne spilt marks and missed tackles, Cottrell burned how many chances, McG was unsighted and Cerra's first half stank. Wilson was very quiet.  Both sides missed a lot of goals that really should have been kicked.  If Hayward came in I suspect it may be for Young, although his flexibility is handy.  Have to find match ups for Dangerflog, Smith and Dempsey, can't see the Cats shelling chances and bringing the ball into F50 with as little system as the dees.

Unfortunately, I was out and couldn't watch, so only had the replay.  The game was full of pressure - both real and implied. The implied pressure made some basic skills look ordinary - dropped marks, missed goals, missed kicks and handballs.

Knowing the result before watching (wouldn't have bothered had we lost!), made it less stressful than it would have been live.  However, there is a real commitment to the game plan and everyone knows what it is.  There aren't nearly as many freebie opposition goals because of a stupid turnover that the opposition gets hold of and there always seems to be pressure on the opposition.

This team and their game is good to watch and hasn't really broken down yet.  Ollie H's pass late in the third to set up Ainsworth's goal not long before the siren was a great example of the confidence that the players have.  We weren't that far away from belting them, as our kicks and handballs weren't missing by much and there were so many 'nearly' marks.

That we can play below our best and still win is also a significant change from 14 or so weeks ago and will continue to build confidence.  Just hope they don't get too far in front of themselves against Geelong.

Interestingly, my brother is in Italy at the moment and data roamed his phone across (he is with vodaphone and cost him $5 a day). He is has been able to watch footy normally on foxtelgo as if he is here in Australia. Thats never worked for me with esims and local european sims. I have always had to use watchafl.com.au

Same for me, replay only and I agree what you say.    If Haywood is fit and ready,  then I think Byrne or Cottrell makes way.;   but I think Byrne because he looked lost and out of his depth and had zero impact.     Byrne wasn't alone tbh, but we don't want to start making too many changes to a winning combo.

I think dropping him would be a mistake - he was still effective but just couldn’t get into the game enough and imo you could see he was disappointed in his game.

McG is the funny one for me. He just cannot be relied on and as a very snr player I just get so frustrated by his dropped marks and errant kicks.

I thought Byrne did OK at becoming a target as the Dees sat on Evans, Byrne attracting the footy a couple of times on the wing helped diffuse the Evans tag, even if not much come out of it. Of course I concede Hayward will cover this easily, but I don't think that Byrne wasn't contributing.

Given the Cats ruck situation, Edwards then Blicsav, I wouldn't be surprised if Young goes out for Hayward, it may depend on Pitto's freshness.

I could see Cottrell or Lord in a negative role on Bailey Smith, so the MC might want to preserve those options, last time we played Smith was let off the hook.

If Haynes is an out it may be unlucky for Derksen, if Hayward gets up Hayward / Haynes might well be the only change, or we could also see Derksen / Young if Haynes is an out. I thought last time we played the Handbaggers our problem was stopping them scoring, despite Weiters having one of his better games before he went out, our F50 functioned pretty well.
