Handy ins!

I hope they’re all fit and good to go.  If so, there will be some unlucky players who will miss out, but that’s how it should be!

Thats about as strong as we can get (considering Guerin is out for the year with a knee)

Yes, Gab would have been one of the first selected throughout her career and she didn’t do much wrong last game.

Amelia Velardo has been outstanding all season and her ability to play on tall opponents gives her an edge over Pound.

Bad luck for Gab but promising signs when a player of her ability and commitment is forced out of the team.

I suppose this comes down to a team balance issue, Velardo has to come in, but we can't just create roles to keep a player in the squad. I think Pound is very stiff though, I thought she was a bit unlucky the first time she found herself on the outer, I had assumed it was really injury related but maybe not!

The thing I think is this, in a straight up best 22 players, Pound would be comfortably in the squad, but we'd be overloaded with players capable of that role and left weaker in some other role.

That is why the best 22 is not always the best 22 players, reminds me of Brock McLean toiling away in the VFL.
