And two howlers from the umpires  ::)

Played VERY well to keep them scoreless in the first.

Was a bit unlucky with some decisions in the 2nd and the damn wall seemed to break.

Not the end of the game yet, but a couple quick ones early on from the kangas and it might be

As i said originally, you might be lucky enough to beat the kangas once, but you won't do it twice.

Seeing why that is the case. They are in a league of their own.

35-5 at 3/4 time.

Put the cue in the rack, get everyone else through the game, and focus on the hawks/suns next week.

Yea we have been caught multiple times ball watching.

Yes we did not make the most Of Opportunities we had early.

Yea the Roos are incredible.

But fk me the umpiring makes this incredibly difficult to watch.  If the AFL is serious they will rectify this absolute substandard umpiring in the womens game.

There is sub-standard umpiring in the mens game.
Not sure they'll be able to fix the womens before they fix the mens.

To me it seems like there are different rules for holding the ball in AFLW.
They refuse to blow the whistle for incorrect disposal. They let the scrum drag on too long.

....and that was a prime example.

Not sure she ever had the ball, it was clearly held to her, free kick and shot on goal against

I expected a bit better than that, you can however tell why NM are back to back premiers and will probably win a third on the trot.
2022- Real Deal or more of the same? 0.6%
2023- "Raise the Standard" - M. Voss Another year wasted Bar Set
2024-Back to the drawing boardNo excuses, its time
2025-Carlton can win the 2025 AFL Premiership
2026-Slow start, we can kick after all, why not?

I havent watched the womens comp for a few years so thought i would watch us in this final.

As a spectacle its so bad and no wonder they still cant get a decent crowd dispite $10 tickets and a double header.

Norths skills and ball movement are decent but our girls are still under 16 level at best! Still dropping basic chest marks missing 25 targets move then they hit. We were going at 30% disposal efficiency half way thru the second quarter and we are a finals team. hate to see the bottom teams play.

If our skill level is an indication of the lack of  quality still in this comp i wont be tuning in again for another few years.

if you like thats great but i cant watch such a low standard let alone pay money to watch it.

Gutsy, but certainly disappointing effort by the girls, against a team that has separated themselves from the pack, by a significant margin IMO.

The girls have another chance next week against either GC or Hawthorn. Hopefully they will win and go deeper into finals.

I'm not sure the weather conditions didn't play a bit of a part today.
and yes... it's still a mile off.
But it is a work in progress.
The skills will improve, histories will be made, rivalries will develop.
At the moment I personally don't feel the connection. I'm not fussed if we (they) win or lose...  but I understand many Carlton supporters have made the link and embraced the concept.
To each his own.

Back tot he drawing board, alas. I'm getting rather tired of North Melbourne.

Not sure what we're going to do some draft time either: we traded out our 1st round pick.

to be fair that was the worst game
i have seen us play for a while.

Seemed like we only took one contested mark!

Ronnie never got going today and Abbie was well held, Sophie had a stinker, Duursma tried and Cordner were good but that was about it today.

Definitely our worst game for the year.
Not the worst conditions, but definitely terrible.

North have lost 1 game in the past 2.5 seasons, so not fair to judge talent against this mob.
