Voting for the Jim Park medal: Rd #1: Carlton vs. Port :( March 17, 2014, 07:38:32 pm With 24 hours to digest the Disaster at Etihad, hopefully someone out there can find it in their hearts to vote for our B & F, the Jim Park Medal. You probably remember the rules, but:[1] Must add up to 15 votes[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player.[3] Please give a rating for the team performance - it determines the weighting for the vote tally. In this case, an 'E' is acceptable. [4] Please don't use nicknames for players - I'll probably know who they are, but I may not. I am not perfect.I'll vote soon. Quote Selected

Re: Voting for the Jim Park medal: Rd #1: Carlton vs. Port :( Reply #3 – March 17, 2014, 08:59:48 pm Team: DAn excellent first quarter, followed by some pretty good work in periods of the 2nd and 3rd. The last was terrible. Simply terrible. Too many guys dropped out of the game like they'd been shot.Votes:[3] Gibbs[2.5] Ellard[2.5] Curnow[2.5] Simpson[1] Henderson[1] Murphy[0.5] Yarran[0.5] Warnock[0.5] Walker[0.5] Robinson[0.5] JamisonExplanations:I found the votes difficult to give because we didn't have a single 4 quarter performer. Some guys, like Bell and Thomas had some really good patches, but very few can be satisfied with their output.[3] Gibbs: Not that good early, but when the pressure was on in the 2nd and 3rd terms, he was brilliant. His new hair style reminded me of SOS and Duigan. He was one of our better players in the last, which isn't saying much. [2.5] Ellard: His first quarter was excellent, while 2nd and 3rd were decent. He really showed something with his kicking and marking.[2.5] Curnow: His opponents got away from him later in the game, but he was very strong early and used every possession well. Seems to have worked on his pace.[2.5] Simpson: Never seen him drop as many marks, but he tried very hard all night and ran hard.[1] Henderson: His first half was almost nonexistent, but he really did well when moved to defence. he took his opponents right out of the game.[1] Murphy: A lot of hard inside work and a lot of handballs. Worked very hard but wasn't prominent.[0.5] Yarran: Some periods of absolute magic and a pretty good defence job for most of the game. A long way from our worst.[0.5] Warnock: Brilliant early, but tired late. Not a lot of possessions, but he made the most of most of them. [0.5] Walker: Excellent early, but started to make mistakes. The kicks dried up and then the frustration same in. Some of his late errors were mind bogglingly bad.[0.5] Robinson: Really good in the middle 2 quarters, but his decision making still needs work.[0.5] Jamison: Not a huge game, but he did control his man well all night.Honourable Mentions:McInnes: Not his biggest night, but he did a pretty good defensive job until the last quarter.Bell: Really showed quite a bit early, but dropped out of the game after time badly.Everitt: Some nice things, but just didn't get near the ball enough.Waite: A couple of really good things and 2 terrific marks followed by periods of nothing. Needs to work harder. Quote Selected
