I guess he might scrape in a vote or two. I thought Pittonet and Acres were ok-ish, but it was a pretty dark day all round, and we shouldn't sugarcoat it IMO.
Agree. We were outclassed pure and simple, whatever were the causes or reasons.
One of the biggest pieces of nonsense sprouted by players and coaches is this rubbish about “One soldier out, next soldier in.”
It might work for the Russian Army… but it sure doesn’t work for us. Not with our current list of injuries.
A ‘good soldier out’ puts an additional burden on your better players who have to carry an extra load.
It puts an additional burden on your fringe players who lose support from, not only the missing player, but also the star players.
Roles change Structures change, Your prime movers are covered more easily. Players carry injuries into games through necessity.
What we saw last night was the cumulative effect of a series of hard games, and missing players. It takes a toll, and unfortunately it may not be a short fix. We’ll get players back…but I suspect we’ll also lose some.
Agree. A very tired performance. Weiters looked deeply unhappy as he sat on the sidelines. We are running out of available match fit talent.
Yes. There's a sizeable body of work recently that suggests we won't be blown away, and we are a real chance to win every game. But the Swans are a pretty tall order at the moment IMO.
Yes we have a real chance now of winning every game we play, provided that we can keep focus and do things right. The Swans will make that hard.
Swans are firing on all cylinders at the moment. Leaving aside I. Zucchini, they have plenty of stars going through that midfield, the highest %, highest points for and lowest against. They will be our toughest opponent to date. I can't see a win to be honest.
Agree with remarks about the Ch7 commentary last night. It scaled new heights in bias, irrelevance and statement of the blindingly obvious. BT gave a masterclass ably supported by his willing cohort.
Acres did certainly make a few glaring errors but he had quite a few mates. Even so we didn't lose by much and with a bit more luck including umpires' calls we may have just got over the line even so. Imo we were just a bit light on for critical talent, but the Pies were also missing a couple. I'm confident we could knock them off on another day.
Mants that was a truly chilling post mate. I'm so sorry that you and your mum had to go through those horrific times. We can only hope that ways can be eventually found to avoid such dreadful experiences being inflicted on people. Many thanks for sharing and for painting such an honest and mind blowing picture.
That was game was pissed up the wall purely by poor kicking for goal. Ok the rest was not perfect but our poor goal kicking was the difference. No, I'm not going to single people out.
