Just putting this out there, which western world leaders have spoken to the nutter Putin since the war in Ukraine started? If Im not mistaken, the answer is one, the other nutter Trump. What if Trump actually knows something everyone else doesn't (like what that lunatic Putin's plans are next) and he is actually trying to avert something more catastrophic (if that's even possible) for Zelenskyy? For me, something is just not adding up here with what took place at the White House the other day.

It was a set up for the domestic audience to make Trump and Vance look like strong men. Instead they  came across as bullies. It would have played well for Trump's fans. The rest of the world would have saw it for what it was.
Trump is an isolationist. He couldn't give two hoots for Ukraine other than its minerals.

It's all about securing resources from Ukraine, and recouping money.

The whole point was we've armed you to the teeth, don't be arrogant we'll let them steam roll you if we wish.

The Ukraine has been very vocal about how well they've done and over stepped themselves when they launched an attack on the other side of the border.

Putin has been ridiculed but in the face of the world defending Ukraine on multiple fronts its a stark reminder about how the big boys play by different rules.

Bagging out Trump is one thing, he's a buffoon but this interview has revealed exactly what is going on.

Looks like Putin is happy to play in the sandpit with Trump as Russia have indicated they are open to a partnership with the USA with regard to rare earth mining and processing.

Yep - as in every case these days its all above the cash!

Think Mr Zelenskyy may have to reconsider the offer as its being reported the yanks have suspended funding as of today. I know majority on here don't like Trumpy but putting him aside for a second the Biden government provided billions without question  towards this war which anyone with half a brain knows is going to way day end in a Russian victory so IMO the US has every right to get something in return to try and to offer a way for it to stop. 

The US are too often looked to as the Worlds police when it comes to these sorts of conflicts yet as we all know you cant just keep on handing out billions to something that as Zelensky himself commented on in the last few days 'is no where near over'.

One positive out of the debacle of a meeting is the European countries are said to be increasing there funding to Ukraine which wouldn't have happened if they weren't forced to do it. They loved the US pumping funding in the way there were so they could quietly turn a blind eye. Well not anymore. 

If i was a tax payer in the US with homelessness the way it is i wouldn't want my country handing out billions with no recourse for another country on the other side of the world while on their own home front many areas need funding assistance.

The way they treat their own citizens is laughable to anyone outside of USA.
But hey, propaganda works wonders. Did i mention they are the best nation?

I think the thing that gets most folks goat is that Trump is pedalling deliberate mistruths about who started the armed phase of the conflict...and parroting the Kremlin lies.
His dislike for Zelensky is obvious.
His admiration for Putin is also obvious.
He talks of Zelensky disrespecting him...but how disrespectful and belittling is it to be negotiating a settlement with an invader while sidelining and ignoring the input from the country being invaded.

Biden and the other countries needed to be more giving initially and supply Ukraine with more aircraft and heavy duty weaponry from day 1. They messed around trying to be diplomatic and sit on the fence instead of going hard, one thing about Israel is they don't muck around and hit back hard and the USA and others should have given Zelensky the weaponry to do same.

Russians play the 'long war'.
It's usually successful, and will eventually be so in the case of Ukraine
But the cost to both sides is terrible.

So the question then becomes...where next for Putin?

That's the point I was making Shawny, a serious concerted effort by hitting back hard with heavy weaponry and calling Putin's bluff early on and a show of strength on mass from supporting countries. Putin thanks to Trump has now gone from looking like he was teetering on the brink having to call for help from another deranged nut case in Kim Jong to looking like he will win the territory gained and get a slice of Ukraine' s mineral wealth. Europe see's the threat but Trump just wants to exploit what is a serious world issue and make a dollar out of it.

Understand Eb but i dont think its only trump that wants to make a buck of it. They all do in my opinion just trump is that brash that he doesn't hid it well.

i dont even trust the ‘victim’ in Ukraine to be honest. They are far from squeaky clean either imo.
