VFLW starts this weekend

As a part of the massive changes going on in women's footy, the VFLW season starts this weekend. Carlton have a team in the VFLW for the first time.
At the moment, the Blues' playing list is something of an unknown, as I don't recognize any of the players as being AFLW players for us in the 2018 season. However, the idea is for that to change over time.  :-*

This weekend the season starts as a curtain raiser for the VFL game, Northern Blues vs. Frankston at Frankston at 1115.

As to the fixture, there are a umber of games where the VFLW is a curtain raiser to VFL games.
Complete fixture available on this link: http://www.carltonfc.com.au/footy/players/vflw

So what you are telling me is that there is yet another competition that we are competing in and can potentially win another wooden spoon in?
Yay.

Wooden spoon progress...
AFLW - check
AFL - well on our way
VFL - Ditto
VFLW - ?

Dead keen to see how the Rugby 7s girls go, they should have plenty of leg speed.

It reminds me of that rumor a many years ago, about us having a crack at Billy Slater!

What's not to like about a Carlton team in the VFLW?

Does anybody know what Jess Hosking is up to, she is not listed at Carlton and she seems to be absent from the VFLW lists?

There's a few players who are AWOL.

Loynes and Harris to name a couple.

Looks like we do have a complete set of twins though. 2 Moodys, the 'new' one, Celine Moody, is 6cm taller than our current ruck Breann Moody.

VFLW is different to AFLW.

Jess is not on any VFLW list, is she injured?

Has Celine joined up since the lists were announced?  She isn't on the list of VFLW players on the club website (the list Crash has posted earlier in this thread) nor on our AFLW list.  BTW I am guessing the B Kennedy in the BP is Bridie, so she should be coloured green - if it isn't her that's another on neither list.  Likewise Schultz the 23rd player, but that may well be the nature of the 23rd player in this league (I don't know but it would make sense).

In terms of girls who are AWOL  a number of the players havent had a break for 2 years now - VFLW 2016, up the intensity to AFLW level training, AFLW 2017, VFLW 2017, AFLW 2018 pre-season and season - it's no wonder a number of players AFLW across the comp are either not playing VFLW this year or not the full season anyway - Daisy Pearce is an example.

To answer my own question, yes she has - it is on the club website.  Interestingly clubs can rejig their lists up to 10 times across the course of the season.  I suspect this is to allow for AFLW players to have part of the season off and come in and out as well as trial code-hoppers youngsters and the like.  That would make sense.

So I believe the things I read: the reality is that this is about half the list. As Ian stated in his post, the list is quite variable and can undergo a number of changes. But I wish I knew that before I bothered with this list!
