Robert Doyle would be my tip for worst Melbourne Mayor....

Australian Prime Minister $587K @2023
Victorian Premier  $481K @2023
Melbourne Mayor...Category 4  $261K@2023
Yep, that's probably right now.

But I'm sure I recall hearing the Lord Mayor of Melbourne could with allowances be a higher wage earner than the Premier in years past.

Well that was a wild old night here in West Gippsland. No power since around 3am, trees down and dog displeased that her heater stopped!

Fortunately, yours truly has his 7.5kva genny on hand so at least the Baggers' household has the basics: fridge, modem, microwave, computers, jug for a cuppa and the dog's heater is back on... along with a portable for Mrs Baggers in her office and me in mine! Fair bit of clean up around the place - trees damaged, roads blocked with downed trees and so on. It was a doozie!

It certainly was a wild night and I'm glad you came through it unscathed.  Why am I not surprised that you're well-prepared?

We had two trees down over the only road out of our little estate but they were both removed by the time we had to head off to see Ms DJC's surgeon for her final post-op consultation.

I've got a bit of chainsawing to do when the weather eases up; branches partly blocking the driveway and a tree down over the front fence.

The school I've been working at was closed today because of no power. It is in West Gippsland. I must admit it was nice not driving down there in that weather.

Capt CRASH, next time you're in West Gippy, drop us a PM and we'll catch up for a cuppa!

Only during working answers, alas. And I have to get back to Ringwood to tutor. But, I appreciate the offer.

Each adult to their own in terms of managing personal health issues, Elle Macpherson has her right to decide what treatment she gets and what she refuses,

The problem with Elle's story is that the message isn't symmetrical, she is here telling the tale because she rolled the dice and survived, they got it all in the lumpectomy so the holistic stuff made no difference, those who didn't get it early and went holistic most likely aren't here to tell the story! That is the asymmetry.

I'm unfortunate to have some very close friends, one of their teenage daughters had health issues going back several years. Some charlatan got hold of their attention and convinced them the solution was clean water, fresh air and vitamins. They stopped conventional treatments, because they had been convinced they were "doing harm", you know the harm I'm talking about, known side-effects and such of specialist therapies. Instead they went bush to some dodgy retreat for wellness and recovery. Why are so many of the "retreats" seemingly in isolated locations, away from phones, internet and any other form of emergency communication or surveillance? Unfortunately their daughter never came home, and worse still it's torn the family apart, her surviving sibling now an adult youth councillor is suing mum and dad for failing in their duty of care towards her sister!

Of course we can understand the desperation and vulnerability, how easily you might find yourself in a similar situation and clinging to offers of miracles, ................. miracles offered by parasites!

Elle should start every description and answer in regards to her health with, "I was lucky ............................ !"

If you want a clear example of how club culture impacts players and performance, go no further than read today's breaking news about Addo-Carr at the Bulldogs.

Put it in context of years of trouble free service while at the Storm under the watch of Bellamy and Smith!

There is some irony in the media being so quiet about Ozempic or Wegovy related deaths, and even greater irony that many of the young people unexpectedly dropping dead were also loud voices trumpeting the alleged evils of vaccines.

Make no mistake this is an epidemic on the rise, young healthy people should not be using Ozempic and Wegovy to 'shred', they are killing themselves from the inside out!

My understanding is that those drugs work firstly on fatty tissue loss around organs and internal structures, it is why they are now also being used to treat sleep apnoea as patients lose fatty tissue around the tongue and throat. But if you are already slender, and try to use these drugs to develop 'a six pack', you are probably starving your organs of needed fat reserves without knowing it, leading to conditions like liver, kidney and heart failure.

Of course many of the same people do not publicly show visible symptoms as they are head to toe in fake tan and other defect masking beauty products.

Does Lidia Thorpe not realise that when she makes a goose of herself that folks just see a goose
...and whatever message she is trying to convey is completely lost.

She is a narcissist - completely absorbed in self-image.  In her world any news is good news.

I suspect that she doesn't realise that she is making a goose of herself.  In fact, I'm sure that she is convinced that her performance today will have won her new supporters.

As a committed republican, it concerns me that her strident, undignified and ineffective protest will damage our cause.  It's a worry when our elected representatives don't seem to have the brains they were born with.

That's kind of my take too.
It's damaging the cause of republicans...and she's targeting the wrong bloke.
Now the monarchy and the republic are obvioulsy intertwined.
But Charles has said that the decision on a republic rests solely with the Australian people.
And that's how it should be.
I suspect he wouldn't be to worried to give us the flick, but still retain visitation rights.
