It was good to read that AFL Vic has dropped the investigation into gender bias and discrimination. From what I can tell this was a case based on hearsay, he said, she said, or they said, them said, whatever your bent might be.
What a colossal waste of time and probably money, although I have no idea what it cost to investigate, I bet some legal eagle sent some rather heavy invoices. This happening when many regional and suburban clubs are struggling to survive every wasted dollar counts double.
The current generation needs to get some balance and perspective, they think digitally prostituting yourself on TV for a show like MAFS makes great entertainment and is smart marketing / branding, but they take offense at an opponent winding them up on the field of combat.
As an aside, I've noticed there is a bit of push back happening across the AFLW as well, with some blaming a "pigs at the trough" attitude for crippling the development of the competition. It's all become rather nasty, but if you have followed AFLW closely you won't be surprised to hear now players are fingerpainting at those who reaped benefits but failed to sow any seeds. Those of us genuinely interested in seeing the competition develop, have been warning for some time that wage growth vastly exceeds earning capability.
