The anthropomorphising that surrounds AI is such a joke, social media and media discussions about the morality of AI have already lost the debate and the plot the moment they started a discussion on morality.

An AI does not know the difference between morally right or wrong, between legal and illegal, there is no empathy, no pain, no guilt and no emotion.

AI is given a problem to solve, or a target to achieve, and intrinsically the AI contains no knowledge of how to go about it legally or morally, only a known Starting point and an end goal. Any apparent or perceived limits are externally supplied by those who create it, and even then the AI is a black box mystery to the creator.

If stealing your life savings or exposing your private information is part of the solution, AI won't be hesitating, won't have doubt, won't delay while waiting for a social clearance to proceed and won't feel bad or guilty about events later.

What privacy you cherish, the secrets you keep personal, the wealth you have built, is just a building block in the AI attempt to find a solution to the current problem whatever that problem might be.

An associate mentioned the other day, the big existential crisis AI is about to face is raising to funds to continue development, e-commerce and financial markets will be destroyed in the process of dining a solution, whole economies might suffer, so keep a little cash on hand because the one thing AI cannot do is physically reach into your pocket.

If you had not yet settled on accepting a complete and utter lack of morality, accountability and integrity from the modern professional news media, then know this, Karoline Leavitt has now been employed by News Ltd!

Leavitt is a perfect fit for MAGA’s state media 🙄

Erin Patterson's day in court didn't go the way she was hoping; not only did she lose her appeal but the DPP successfully had her non-parole period removed meaning that she should spend the rest of her life behind bars.

From what I could glean from the original trial, Patterson seemed to believe that she was smarter than everyone else, and her appeal reinforced that impression.  She will have plenty of time to ponder whether she overestimated herself.

Anyone else caught up in "the stock up for 72 hours of disruption" frenzy currently doing the rounds....
Woolworths have double length toilet paper (8 rolls) for $8.50.
That's a saving of nearly $4.00. ;)

The “stock up” frenzy seems to have originated with Yahoo, and that’s a blast from the past 🙄

Is it a marketing ploy by the supermarkets?

It seems many countries are in fact urging their peoples to stock up.
But it's really non-specific in terms of the supposed threat.

Military conflict, cyber-attack and natural disasters are all getting a run.
Some folks are even suggesting "First contact".
 :D  :D
So stock up on some Reeses Pieces.

As Facebook's the Gherk has pointed out;

Quote
"Deep inside the Yahoo article, after the ominous headline, the Australian Red Cross representative literally says: “We are absolutely not encouraging Australians to run out and start stockpiling food. No panic buying, please.”

My wine delivery from Vinomofo arrived yesterday.  Is it too soon for another order?

And I just postponed my next Who Gives a Crap delivery.  Should I reconsider?

It's a good thing most of our chooks are laying but was I too reckless in giving my sister in law a dozen eggs?

Where this genuinely hurts people are the Norbits who start stockpiling medicines they don't really need.

Interesting collection.

Had never heard of 3 of them.

The Boys soundtrack.
Earth Cry
and surprisingly......Down City Streets

The first two understandably as they are not 'songs' so much as you'd think of.....but can't recall Down City Streets, but can understand why its in there.

Personally i would've had 'Goanna - Solid Rock' on there.

The Boys Soundtrack is by The Necks. Anything by them is great IMO.

They will be adding new songs every year. Solid Rock will get in there for sure at some point.

Any list of All time influential Australian songs that doesn't include= Bryan Davies-"Ten Pin Bowling" is a bit dubious. ;)  :D

And where the Fck is "A Pub with no Beer".

I suppose they've picked a bit from a mix of genre, but I'd have put Eagle Rock in there as typical Australiana.

@PaulP,‍ why am I not surprised, The Necks are terrific listening and a great introduction to lounge jazz for jazz music newbies. Anyone who has travelled will recognise their music, it's almost ubiquitous as the background of hotel foyers, bars and restaurants. On the classical side, did you tune in last night to the ABC Young Performer of the Year concert? I'm getting old, it started at 6pm and I feel asleep after a few hours of the final. Tried listening agian today, and the same thing happened.
