There is significant irony in Ivan Cleary, coach Penrith and father of Nathan Cleary, complaining that Storm's Harry Grant played for a penalty!

It's like a master jewel thief complaining about safe crackers, Nathan's A-Game is built on using the rules to draw penalties!

The Panther's Leota was caught breaking the rules by the ref, something he had obviously been coached to do, and he was fully aware of the illegality because he did his very best to hide what he was doing.

We often complain about the dodgy nature of the AFL, but it pales into insignificance compared to the dodgy commercial driven nature of NRL.

Case in point, Storm Captain Harry Grant is suspended for 2 games over an accidental impact greatly dramatized by the broadcasters.

Elsewhere on the same field of play, the Bulldog's Captain Stephen Crichton, during a tackle on Ryan Papenhuyzen, deliberately reached down to the face of Papenhuyzen and raked his fingers across Papenhuyzen's face with enough force to twist Papenhuyzen's head. The incident was replayed just once, talked down by the broadcasters, and Crichton wasn't even sighted by the review panel!

speaking of dodgy I see ex storm Player  Brandon Smith has been charged by Qld police for supplying a "dangerous" substance and providing inside info information for betting purposes. I hope there are mitigating circumstances or there could be serious jail time. The Bunnies picked up a bargain there! He has always been a sort of lovable larrikin but maybe gone too far this time

Gone may be the operative word.

He had a spot of 'dangerous substance' bother after a losing Storm GF a few years back, so he clearly needs to get some help.  I loved watching 'The Cheese' play, he had white-line fever of the highest grade (and I use that term very carefully....).  
This is now the longest premiership drought in the history of the Carlton Football Club - more evidence of climate change?

I suspect he's failed to respect his noggin one time too many!

Many of the NRL tribe can be best described as talented blunt instruments.

btw., Do you like how News Ltd report it, "Ex. Storm Star ........" rather than "Rabbitoh's player ............."?

Harry Grant two weeks for an accident, Crichton gets a $1000 fine for deliberately raking a face with enough force to twist somebodies head.

Harry Grant, "Oops turned the wrong way in a collision" error.

Crichton, enacting the "I'm going to rip your head off and crap down your neck!" threat.

Yes they also missed ex Roosters player, who he left us to play for until souths gave him a lifeline.Just a waste the guys got a young family,but seems to hang with bad influences outside of rugby.

As for Crichton NRL wont touch the Bulldogs....frightened of the godfather Phil Gould :D
