What a surprise, graded as a level one offence
Do that at local cricket you're looking at six weeks plus a lengthy appointment at the dentist on Monday morning.

Rabada copped two weeks for shouldering Smith … but he did have form.

Kohlis actions were so deliberate and he should have been suspended but cricket politics/money dictated that he would get off lightly like LP suggested he would.
Been watching a bit of South Africa vs Pakistan and its ridiculous how the Saffies will qualify for the Test final if they win one of the two tests in this series. They have played no one of note and play limited tests in the cricket calendar year ie 10 so far.....England have played 22 tests, Australia 15, India 17 etc. Percentage of wins and a points system is what gets you in, I cant get my head around how this a true reflection of who is the best team and how such an unbalanced schedule can lead to a worthy result.

After such a promising start from Konstas and Khawaja, I thought that our batters let the game slide in the second session.  The last session was much better and this morning Smith and Cummins have picked up where they left off.

I think that batting conditions will be good for India but a >400 run total will have them under pressure, particularly if Bolo turns on his MCG magic.

Yep, lost momentum, but recovered thanks to Smith and Carey.  Head was due to miss out, but Marsh played a festering t**d of a shot.  Carey played another important cameo to steady things when it looked a bit scratchy.

The ICC quietly changed the rules after the Rabada suspension and the only penalty available for Kohli’s offence was a fine and a demerit point 🙄

I've watched more cricket in the last 3 days than I have for the last 10 years.
Young Konstas was a big part of that...he might just bring folks like me back to the cricket. ;)  :D

Konstas brought some bazball to the game but his technique is a bit loose for me and he is going to have to stay lucky if he wants to keep playing that way imo.

I think as he grows into it he'll get better at moderate his "urges", his basic technique is sound, it's the extended moments of insanity that will bring him undone.

I get him throwing Jasprit Bumrah off his line with some radical shots, I'm a bit surprised we haven't done it sooner, too man ye old blokes defending their turf I suspect. But you don't want Sam Konstas to end up like Rishahb Pant and become a flat track clown.

The problem for Sam Konstas is that all the big money is in the IPL, and courtesy of his Kohli interaction he'll receive an underwhelming offer relative to what he should probably be earning, it could be a good thing for Australia though! ;)

I usually watch more of the MCG Tests than others … unless the cricket is particularly close/entertaining/exciting.  I guess that’s where Konstas comes in.

My main motivation this time was to see how Bolo and Bumrah went, and neither disappointed … although Bumrah got belted more often than he’s used to.

I knew nothing about Konstas before the Test and how good is it to have a talented young man with great technique and who isn’t intimidated by the occasion and big names and plays his natural game?

Let’s hope the selectors are kinder to Sam than they were with MacSweeney.

Credit where it is due, that was a seriously good seamer coming from a bloke who is bowling at 140kph.

Watching Bumrah bowl on a relatively good pitch, just highlights how lacking in Starc can be when conditions aren't tailor made for him!

Starc on a pitch that favours bowlers is as good as any in the world, on that MCG pitch he was borderline lacklustre!

Worse still, today on a pitch that is starting to deviate a bit yet is still far better than the pitches of the first 3 tests our batsmen are making Bumrah look like Godzilla!

Personally, I see this a consequence of too much IPL T20 with batsmen becoming far too accustomed to batting on roads, they are losing the technique and knack of managing their way through an innings on a deviating wicket.

Starc has been run into the ground because we only play three quicks and the Indians have targetted Lyon.
Webster must play in Sydney.
