Loads of learning to come for Mirkov.11 mins 2nd qtr.Tiggers: 7.1.43Blues: 4.0.24 Quote Selected

They're hunting us well and applying lots of pressure and causing many errors from us. Quote Selected
Re: VFL Rd 4 2022 Carlton vs Richmond Reply #21 – April 17, 2022, 12:13:33 pm AFL needs to act to stop players throwing themselves forward when tackled, it's the new ducking, and someone is going to get seriously hurt! Quote Selected

Re: VFL Rd 4 2022 Carlton vs Richmond Reply #23 – April 17, 2022, 12:25:39 pm Just like our AFL team, we look flat, this leads me to question our approach to match fitness and mental preparation. If we look flat in the AFL in the next hour or so surely some serious questions will be asked, and this time perhaps not of the coach! Re: VFL Rd 4 2022 Carlton vs Richmond Reply #26 – April 17, 2022, 06:30:35 pm Just like the seniors, our game plan is based on winning the ball in the middle. That didn't happen today. Soldo was the difference, as he cut off the supply to our mids and put us on the back foot.Congratulations to Will Hayes:37 possession, 6 marks, 4 tackles and 10 clearances from a losing ruck combo. This guy wants back on an AFL list very badly, and we'd be crazy not to pick him. He might play a bit vanilla, but he has been in our best every week. We want gut running: he provides it.Jack Carroll isn't far away, even though he was much quieter after quarter time. 11 possessions in the first quarter.23 disposals and 7 clearances.Otherwise, our defenders were our better players because the forwards didn't see much of it. Williamson and Plowman could hold their hands up high: they contributed nicely. As for the others, they were well down:O'Brien: a lot of running, but only 15 possessions. Noe enough to get a recall for me.Jordan Boyd: reportedly injured, possibly seriously. Got 18 possessions until then.Liam Stocker: 13 possessions and not impressive. Give him a few more weeks to work on his fitness. The rest will come.Sam Philp: 13 possessions and 2 goals. Not our worst, especially as he managed 4 clearances as well.Lochie Fogarty: 13 possessions and 2 clearances. Won't be there in 2023 on this effort.Jesse Motlop: 12 possessions and 1 goal. Inexperience showed.Tom de Koning: 15 possessions and 7 clearances, but beaten by a big, strong ruckman. We need a 2nd ruckman next week, but I'm not sure Tom has done enough to be it.Brodie Kemp: 10 possessions. Very disappointing. Lots some way off at the moment. He isn't holding his marks. The side will be much stronger next week when Dow comes back, although he may play seniors yet. Honey and Oscar Mac will also make a big difference also. More importantly, our ruck division will be a lot more productive. We play Werribee at Werribee on Saturday. Quote Selected 1 Likes

Some, when tackled from behind, are dropping to their knees and lunging forward bringing the tackler with them. Quote Selected
