Really glad to read, M, that Binnsy communicated all-good with Vossy.
I wasnt a fan of that conversation in front of the other players who were equally poor and would have preferred it was away from the cameras where people couldnt lip read. Our leaders needed spraying last game and told to play their fecking role as much as Binns imho.

Who is to say it didn't, but only 1 was caught on camera.
This week him talking with the leaders was caught on camera. Where is the same criticising of that?

Vossy's address to the senior players against Rottingwood, was just that. Binns copped a pointed spray the week before. Very different.

EB1 is 100% correct re it being the leaders who should have copped a spray the week before, not the kid - easy target. Not a good look.

Last Friday he singled out the leaders. Good. His 'talk' with the leaders was needed. Bottom line is though, he shouldn't need to do it. If our on-field leaders are really leaders, they should know what to do and say... and enforce it, loudly, on field. Maybe they're just too nice and don't want to hurt anyone's feelings!

Yep. The on field leadership should have been held to account for not supporting Binns.
Reality always wins in the end.

I dont agree with this, when Vossy sprayed Binns, it was during an address to the midfield group who he pulled away from their line coach, nothing to do with the leadership group. They were getting beaten up and not sticking to their tasks. From what I understand, they only showed that bit with Binns but he sprayed every midfield group member individually.
Vossy has found his voice but I have this feeling it might be too late.
2021-Pi$$ or get off the pot
2022- Real Deal or more of the same? 0.6%
2023- "Raise the Standard" - M. Voss Another year wasted Bar Set
2024-Back to the drawing boardNo excuses, its time
2025-Carlton can win the 2025 AFL Premiership

I think there is a difference how you speak to senior players, when and where you do it and how you speak to younger players.
If Binns wasnt following orders I would have dragged and spoken to him on the phone in private explaining why and what was expected and then later on when I did my video reviews pointing out his errors.

Binns himself said he and vossy are fine. They have had conversations after the fact and talked through everything involved.
The supporters are the ones up in arms about this, not the people involved.
Binns is a grown man, as is vossy.

Hell, I copped a few sprays in my under-age years and I wasn't the only ones on the receiving end. Sometimes you need to hear it.

Why is this such a thing with binns?

Sounds good and reasonable in theory, K... However... I think you've left out one important ingredient - Our PR/media/marketing dept.

Interesting that Binnsy was given to the media for interview. Prepared script? Likely.

I think we all understand that Binns wasn’t going to come out and state the coach hates and picks on him.
Binns came across as being mature and professional in his outlook to his credit.
Let’s go BIG !
