Yes, form wise. He's certainly not alone, but like Blake Acres, his form has tapered right off IMO.

Whilst generally I would agree with this it was an extraordinarily cold, dark, miserable night and the traffic was absolutely at a standstill coming off the Eastern and on Hoddle St due to presumably the Mernda and Hurstbridge lines being down due to the track derailment… it took a massive effort to get in last night.

I live in Greensborough. 

I get it, its why I won't have a go at any one person for not going, but the ones that were there weren't exactly getting loud.  I was not far from the Melbourne cheers quad and they were louder during the game than ours was after goals at times.

I still think we should be getting 50k to a home game at the G.  We cant complain about marvel when that happens vs another Melbourne based side.

How do Melbourne escape the media blowtorch?  No injuries, far better team on paper, won majority of statistical indicators... Yet lost to a scratch side full of kids and out of form players.  I picked the dees by 8 goals so I was way wrong, I suspect a few media pundits were too.

May lost the race to the ball, and just ran his line through Frankie and collected him with his shoulder.
At no time did May try to tackle, grab the ball or even brace for impact he just kept his body square on and ran through him.
Mays only saving grace is that he didn’t coathanger him like he would have 30 yrs ago.
May could have opened his arms up and wrapped Frankie in a big ol bear hug of a tackle.

Anyone think that holding Moir back might have benefited him rather than gift him games when his performance and effort didn't warrant it?

His talent has never been the question.    Hopefully the penny has dropped.

He is a player that our forward line desperately needs.

another win thats puts the band aid on ,only pleasing thing last night was watching the kids showing something ,but our game style/ plan is no good ,like i said it took melb   7mins and 38 secs to hit the front  in 3rd Q and they moved ball to easily from defence to there fwd line so imagine what a good team can do.

We're always in it against sides like Melbourne because they have a slow midfield.  We look very third rate against modern, fast midfielders like Brisbane.

I’m in Eltham.

The Carlton supporters around us did not stop complaining about the players not manning up, one guy in particular did not give it a rest about Pittonet… unfortunately when there’s not a big crowd you can’t help but tune into all these ongoing negatives views - which whilst with some parts I agree, still irritating to listen to a stream of constant vitriol against us.

I thought it was a good win - okay we’re above Melbourne on the ladder but I still was expecting a thumping by them - the team showed some energy and synergy. A lot lot lot better than the past month otherwise.

When you consider our players' lack of skill in kicking to the advantage (or at least not to the disadvantage) of teammates, you have the summation of the failure of Voss and his assistant coaches.

Perhaps.

Anyone think that giving him a game early on was a bit of a reality check to point out where he actually is in the scheme of things and give him something to work towards?

I think it was Vossy who said that he's always been very talented, but he needed to know how to work within a system.
I think the earlier game was a good lesson to learn that talent will only take you so far. Playing as/within a team will give you more success.

I think he's been handled very well. ;)

I was starting to think that Moir wouldn't realise his potential, but dropping him in at the deep end seems to have paid off.  By that, I mean that he has been tasked to play as a key forward, third tall and midfield against serious opposition and without much support.

I don't think that he is ever going to be a high possession ball magnet but I believe that he will become an important cog in our forward line and midfield.
