Agree with all the above comments re sound issues. I went through a phase where I had my finger on the volume button of the computer, rapidly increasing or decreasing the volume, depending on whether it was the coach or the journalist talking. Suffice to say that didn't last long.

Agree. Playing under zero pressure is way different to playing against the big boys.
The club now has to sort out the chaff from the wheat.
IMO, some of the young blokes should have been played earlier to get a better sample size of games.

Playing with a certain freedom in the last few games could be a learning and growth opportunity for the players, from a mental / psychological perspective.

I don't think it's a 'fascination' but rather most of us finally seeing young fellas who offer hope through their enthusiasm, attitude, delivering encouraging results, and the bottom line is we don't know what their ceilings are. We know the ceilings of Fogarty and Durdin.

Flynn Y was running around for the Werribee Tiggers not so long ago. Take a look at his improvement. Look, just for one example, at his MGd in his last game. Look at his disposal by foot. And the most important question, if he can improve that much in such a short time... What's his potential?

Whitey works his @rse off and gets to, and impacts contests, and provides strong enthusiasm. Great attitude. But of this three he may find himself delisted, then hopefully is rookied as there is something to work with there.

Frankie's spike has been incredible - his form in VFL warranted a return to AFL but that was amazing output. Good on him...

Pre season under Flynn Young will be interesting. Flynn on the left side spearing passes and Cotts on the right side spearing passes with Elijah being a conductor in between them.

Im not anti giving Frank another year but I wouldnt be giving him 2-3..... we are where we are for a reason and Wright has determined its not the coach and says we need better players and more depth so changes have to happen. Id be replacing the List manager but that seems unlikely..

However I must say there is something about this bloke i like - he has real energy when he is involved and looks to play for the jumper. His game against GC was very impressive as that game did have something riding on it for them.  Could become a bit of a cult hero if he can continue that sort of form into 2026.

His biggest quality is his ability to spot and then be able to hit a forward target -which as we all know this has always been an area we are well below par in. And yes while the last month is not as important as when the games mean something its still nice to see as blokes like Durdin, Hollands and Acres still spray em and kick straight to opposition regardless, so i was very impressed with that aspect of Evans game.

EB, respectfully I think you’re the only one with that fear, the rest of us are saying “at round 10 Frankie was delist material but we have seen something, give him 1 maybe 2 as list spot 44”
At list spot 44 I think most teams would sign him up.

Frank the tank is listed as 182cm, I seriously thought he was about 173cm.

It seems to me that most folk think that he should get another year on the rookie list as a handy depth player.  He has played ten AFL games for us, against decent opposition, and after a slow start, has performed pretty well.  His VFL player ranking this season is 9.5/10 as opposed to his previous highest ranking of 6/10 in the SANFL.  His AFL stats are superior to Bobby Hill and Charlie Cameron in virtually every category, but he's a long way behind Kosi Pickett.  As Vossy has stated, his body of work in the VFL and AFL since June has been outstanding.

As I said previously, this is his last chance and I reckon he has given it his best shot.  I also suspect that part of his improvement is down to his teammates' improved confidence in his ability to perform his role, and he hasn't let them down.

He's building a cult following.  He scores goals and he kicks the ball and straight.  Puts his head where others wont.  Gets to the ball drop of marking forwards which is what started my man love of him.  Roving to Harry vs GC.  Its an indictment on the rest that I cant think of this happening much and it stands out.  He has pace whilst not express, and isnt scared to tackle a bigger opponent and will halve a contest he won't win.

Thats the Frankie I like.  Not the one that marked inside 50 against Sydney then put it out on the full from a set shot.

Confidence is a wonderful thing. 

The important point.   He's on his last chance and he wont command big dollars.  If its between him, durdin or fogarty who do you play?

Remember the ad?  When he put the ball down moirs throat all i can remember was Fizzed by Frank.

Give him a 3 year deal on minimum chips.  He'll take it and he'll reward us when he plays.

Respectfully NB I dont think any of the top teams would look at him given he has had two clubs, not shown anything and most have some quality small forwards.
We are a bottom club with not much attraction so I get we cant be too picky and have to have some faith when a player performs. As I said I am ok with giving him another year to prove me wrong, if he can reproduce his last two weeks form on a consistent basis over 2026 then happy to give him a two year deal.
We just have a history of giving average players lengthy contracts and getting burnt and we need to be bit more diligent in making sure we get it right especially with a small sample size like we have with Frank.
Agree we need to start nailing picks and trades, we need better quality as Wright suggested but if players like Khamis are on the radar its just more of that fringe unproven type that wont get us anywhere so I hope we raise the bar and get some best 22 types.

Yes, I'm comparing him to Bobby Hill and Charlie Cameron because he has performed better than they have this season.  Can he do so again next season, who knows?  Is it worth seeing if he can?  Absolutely!

Once again, no-one is saying that he is a potential Norm Smith Medalist, the next Eddie Betts, or worthy of a long term deal.  With the exception of Thry's generous three year proposal, most folk are suggesting another year as a rookie.

The bottom line is that Austin made an astute decision to take him as an SSP rookie and it would be yet another astute decision to extend his contract for a year, perhaps two if he gets other offers.
