The biggest jump between VFL and AFL is for KPPs, VFL Mids aren't that far off AFL Mids in terms of run and aerobic capacity, but it's the increased size, strength and agility of AFL big bodies that is the biggest difference.
A lot of VFL "big blokes" are what we might call tall skinnies, they look massive relative to others, but they look like twigs next to a Nankervis, Gawn, May or Weiters.
And for Lemmey, much as it was with Meat before him, being dominant at VFL won't deliver you dominance in AFL. You need a whole other level of aggression and strength.
I often think back to Enright's hit on Warnock, do you think Enright would clean up Nankervis, Gawn, Darcy, et al., do you think he'd even try? That's the problem with having a big bloke who is relatively "timid" trying to be a dominant KPP at AFL level, if they aren't aggressive they are victims.
