In fairness, its not like they can rejoin the rank and file after being state premier.  What job could they conceivably do?

Yes Shawny, that is true, but don't think it's tax free.  Once upon a time, I think 2 terms gave you a parliamentary pension.

They are the rules, it doesn't matter who they are or what they did.  It won't be long before no one is eleigible - my quick search was 5 (excl Jacinta):

Tax free or not the average person: A maximum of $31,223 per year ($1,200.90 per fortnight) for a single person.

Id rather pay tax on her income than get that!
