AFLW 2025 Rd 12 Carlton vs West Coast at Perth

Big game this week...big ins.

Both Hill and McKay are back.

Out: Skepper and O'Connell.

Bit surprised about Skepper, thought there was a few in line before her, but so be it.

I wrote this last week, but a cut and paste to remind everyone...
If we win, we are in.
If we draw, we are in.
If either Adelaide or Sydney draw, we are in.
If any of Saints, Adelaide or Sydney lose, we are in, even if we lose. (Fremantle are so far behind % wise, that it doesn't matter)

If we lose and everyone below us wins, we can still be in, but it'll come down to %.
West Coast go above us if they win as their % is already better than ours.
Saints got above us if they win as they are on the same points as us already.
Adelaide and Sydney are about a 2-3-goal margin behind us in terms of %, so these results matter.

So VERY roughly speaking....
If Adelaide winning margin + Our losing margin > 2-3 goals, it will be pretty even % wise between us
If Sydney winning margin + Our losing margin > 2-3 goals, it will be pretty even % wise between us.

Of course, none of that matters if we win.

Our line-up:

B:   6 Gabriella Pound   49 Madeline Hendrie
HB:   36 Ciara Fitzgerald   21 Harriet Cordner   3 Darcy Vescio
C:   11 Yasmin Duursma   25 Keeley Sherar   17 Dayna Finn
HF:   7 Poppy Scholz   42 Tara Bohanna   19 Erone Fitzpatrick
F:   16 Breann Harrington   55 Sophie McKay
R:   5 Abbie McKay   10 Mimi Hill   20 Lily Goss
Int:   14 Siofra O'Connell   24 Brooke Vickers   18 Madeleine Guerin   23 Lila Keck   12 Jessica Good
Em:   1 Amelia Velardo   13 Aisling Reidy   4 Keeley Skepper

Interesting that Velardo is out injured, but named as an Emergency.

Not all that happy that our game starts so late. I didn't expect us to be on TV, but ... And we get a five day break! Not happy about that at all!

Great last quarter by the girls and how about Darcy’s barrel?

I don’t think I’ve seen a torpedo attempted let alone nailed in AFLW 👏

Well done in wet windy conditions. A real arm wrestle and out poor efficiency i50 kept the scores close until 4q.

Cream rose to the top and Bohanna and Fitzpatrick kicked true as conditions cleared.
Icing on top by 89-gamer Vescio 👏

Congratulations ladies. Looks like you're finals bound

Kicked the last 4 goals of the game when the eagles got in front and the pressure was on.
That 10 minute burst outscored the takes all game.

These girls thrive on pressure.
Coming off a 5 day break and having to go west, you'd forgive them if they tired late but no. These team has a lot of heart.

Onto the finals.

Hopefully we can avoid the all conquering kangaroos

Interesting that Velardo is out injured, but named as an Emergency.
Was named in the team initially, so not sure what happened. O'Connell came in after being an out

I keep saying Darcy Vescio is the one player at Carlton who can kick the ball. Men's or women's program. Make her the Carlton kicking coach.
