The saving grace, if I can call it that, is that the next POTUS will be a lame duck from day one.
Most presidents rely on two terms to implement their agendas and try to wind back the other bloke’s initiatives - think of Obama care and Aurangzeb’s pledge to dismantle it as soon as he took office. Biden winning in 2020 effectively scuttled Aurangzeb’s opportunity to achieve much.
A lame duck president’s term is usually notable for the jockeying for the next nomination. That may well mean some grandstanding by GOP hopefuls and that could include opposing Aurangzeb’s executive orders and nominations and even withholding funds; voting on party lines is not a thing. That could be critical with GOP holding a narrow majority in the Senate and possibly just sneaking in front in the House.
